~ Snoop bragging about his crimes.
Maurice "Snoop" Miller is the main antagonist of Elmore Leonard's 1996 novel Out of Sight and its 1998 film adaptation. He is a small-time gangster who concocts a plan to rob the wealthy Dick Foley, with whom he once did time in prison.
He was portrayed in the film by Don Cheadle, who also portrayed Al-G Rhythm in Space Jam: A New Legacy.
Maurice "Snoop" Miller is a career small-time criminal, whose main sources of income are dealing drugs and committing robberies. He is also an amateur boxer, infamous for taking dives for money in fixed fights; he got his hated nickname because "if you pet him, he goes down".
He meets protagonist Jack Foley, a serial bank robber, in a Florida prison where both of them are doing time. He also meets corrupt financier Dick Ripley, who is in prison for fraud, and offers him protection from other inmates in return for money in his commissary account. He overhears Ripley bragging about having hidden millions of dollars in uncut diamonds in his mansion, and begins planning to rob the house.
A few years later, Snoop is paroled, and starts a career as a fight promoter. It is a front for how he really makes his money: dealing and home invasions, assisted by his henchmen, Kenneth and White Boy Bob. They work with another former inmate, Glenn, who claims to know how to bypass Ripley's security system and steal his diamonds. To force his compliance, Snoop makes him come along with him and his men while they rob and murder a rival drug dealer. Following the robbery, Glenn gets cold feet, and runs.
When Foley, recently escaped from prison, comes after the diamonds as well, Snoop offers to partner with him and split the money. The night of the robbery, however, Snoop double-crosses Foley and takes diamonds for himself, while Kenneth tries to rape Foley's maid and lover, Midge. Foley kills Kenneth before he can assault Midge, while White Boy Bob accidentally kills himself with his own gun, which goes off when he trips while running up a flight of stairs.
Snoop faces off against Foley, who is out of bullets. Just as he is about to kill Foley, Karen Cisco, a federal marshal and Foley's lover who has been pursuing him since his escape, bursts in and tells Snoop to freeze. When Snoop attacks her, Cisco shoots him dead.
