The Snowman is the main antagonist of the indie horror game Dead Cold and it's 2020 sequel Cold Call. It is a monstrous-like creature snowman believed to be the vengeful spirit of Sarah Evans
Appearance[]
In its normal form, it has the same appearance as a regular snowman. It wears a green scarf, with rocks in the shape of eyes and a smile, but most likely changes its appearance to blend in better, where in Dead Cold, it had a carrot nose and branches for arms
In its monster form, it appears very tall and slender, with black eyes with white pupils and has a hollow mouth with sharp teeth and 2 rocks on its torso, in Dead Cold, it has sharp snow spike like arms with rocks on its torso and a sharp smile, along with black eyes and white pupils.
Biography[]
While it's not confirmed, the Snowman is often believed to be Sarah, a vengeful spirit who was married to a man named Adrian Evans for a little over a year and even started a family with 2 kids named Emily and Jack Evans. However, it was eventually discovered that Adrian was cheating on Sarah with a women named Charlotte which broke Sarah and more than likely lead to a heated argument. While it's not clear what exactly happened to her, what is known from the prequel, Dead Cold, is that Adrian probably killed Sarah during a dispute and led to her being brought back but as a spirit and a snowman.
Dead Cold[]
Dead Cold is the prequel Cold Call where it is played in Adrian's perspective and tells of what happened after Sarah's death. Adrian is tormented by both the Snowman and Sarah and towards the end of the game, Sarah torments Adrian one last time by stating "I will take them, but I will take you first". While Adrian attempts to escape with the kids, he is impaled by a snow spike and taken below the surface, with Sarah presumably saying "Don't worry, we will all be together soon, implying she killed her kids also.
Cold Call
A year later, Officer Fredrick Hartwell is sent to the house after reports of a dispute by neighbors; while exploring, the snowman is seen at times before hiding. Later, after checking Adrian's phone, he is ambushed by the snowman and shoots it with his handgun, putting it down temporarily. However, when he tries to leave, the door is shut, and when trying the backyard, he is ambushed by the snowman again, eventually knowing that it isn't going to let him leave but attempts to phone backup, which fails. Fredrick has to survive while constantly being attacked by the snowman. During the final battle of the game, he has to constantly fix heaters in each room until backup arrives while fighting the snowman with a homemade flamethrower and while doing so, the voice of Sarah can be heard somewhere, retelling her pain of the events and how she found out about Adrian cheating, to then her "taking them back", whereas "Them" being her kids after Adrian took them. After a few minutes, backup will arrive, along with the door being accessible. However, as soon as he steps outside, everything from the road, his car and even any nearby houses and the authorities are not seen. As Hartwell tries to understand what is happening, his light shines over a snowman which immediately disintegrates. As soon as Hartwell understands what it is, followed by the deputy shouting his name, he looks down and sees the snowman's face looking back at him, presumably killing him as well.
