Sodarn Insane is a minor antagonist of the Animaniacs animated series. He is a spoof of Saddam Hussein, the real-life fifth president of Iraq and leader of the The Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party.
He was voiced by Frank Welker.
Biography[]
In "Baghdad Café", Sodarn Insane sat in his residence and plotted to send out his army of tanks to invade the Middle East and start a war on the world, that will lead to him taking over. Just then, Yakko, Wakko, and Slappy the Squirrel came in, mistaking his temple for an actual café. Insane got mad and demanded they all leave but they didn't listen and just kept assuming that this was a café. Yakko assumed that Insane was the head waiter and ordered him around. Just then, one of Insane's tanks went awry and blew a hole in his wall and made him freak out. The Warner Brothers and Slappy pulled up a table and Wakko started eating the map. Sodarn got sick of the nonsense and ordered his guards in to kick them out. When the guard came in, Slappy leaped into the guard's arms and said "Helloooooo, nurse!", as the script required her to do. However, Slappy didn't get the joke and thought these stage directions were terrible. Insane was officially fed up and started ranting at everybody, before Slappy shoved a bunch of dynamite down his underpants and made him explode, sending Insane flying across Baghdad and landing in the ocean, where he died in a fiery explosion.
In "Hot, Bothered, and BeDeviled", Sodarn Insane was about to make an impassioned speech to the rioting people of Iraq, when a trap door opened up under him and he fell in, going straight down to Hell for all eternity.
