Sofia the Terrible, is a major antagonist in Monica's Gang, and a supporting character in Monica Teen.
She's the third member of the Pitanga Tree Girls, serving as the muscles of the group, and a constant bully to Monica's gang. She's Penha and Agnes's (former) second best friend. In Monica Teen/Adventures, she initially appears as a supporting antagonist of the Shadows of the Past arc, but was reformed near to end of it, becoming the gang's friend, and turning into a supporting protagonist for the rest of the series.

Background[]
Sofia always lived in the Pitanga Tree district, where she befriended Agnes and Penha, two other girls from that district. Sofia, for unknown reasons, has a huge body and an immense, almost superhuman strength, but a very little intelligence, as Penha states that she taugth Sofia how to speak, and she only learned it when she was nine years old.
Monica's Gang[]
Sofia, along with the other Pitanga Tree girls first met the gang in "The Pitanga Tree Girls", where they show up in Monica and Maggy's way to an ice cream shop located in the Pitanga Tree district, and starts to bully them with no appearent reason. Sofia stands in Maggy's way to go the ice cream shop, and her belly knocks Maggy to the floor, and an angry Monica tries to "rabbit-hit" her, but her rabbit rebounds on Sofia's belly and hits her to the floor. Along with the other girls, Sofia starts to bully them, and holds Monica up, while Agnes hold Maggy up. Agnes is scared away from Maggy by the latter's cat fur, and Maggy puts some pitangas (a type of cherry) on the floor where Sofia was, making her roll all the street around.
Sofia also appeared in "A Rock in the Middle of the Field", where she stands in the middle of the soccer field where the gang's boys were going to train to a future soccer league, making them, without succes, trying to get Sofia out of there. They ended up convincing Sofia to be their goalkeeper during the league, which made them win, as no ball could go throug Sofia.
Monica Teen[]
In Monica Teen Sofia is invited by Penha to help her in her vengenance plan against the gang, where she would be a scapegoat, whose mission was to pretend to be Monica's friend and stay close to her, so she would know how is she reacting to the actions of Penha's plan, so the latter would know if it is hurting Monica as much as she want. She asks her mother to transfeer her to Lemon Tree college, where the gang studies, so she could go with the plan. She show to be an extremly different person, with a sweet and calm personality, whose biggest desire is to make friends. In the start, Monica is extremly suspicious of Sofia, while the rest of the Gang syphatizes with her. Monica eventually do the same, and befriends Sofia. After Penha starts dating Jim Five, Sofia is called to the reunion on Monica's house to discuss the assunt. Some people in the reunion suspects from Sofia, because she appeared at the same time as Penha and Agnes, like if the Pitanga Tree Girls were back in action, but the overrall consensus is that Sofia is innocent.
After the reuinion, Sofia goes to Penha's manor to inform the latter that Monica is already defeated and the plan is going well. However, after Penha says she wants to star "Phase Two", Sofia arguments that Monica is already too bad, and, showing some symphaty to the latter, asks Penha if they didn't already gave her what she deserved, but Penha uses her Scorn Glare and asks why the "Creature that only learned how to talk at nine years old" wants to think, and says she will "thinks for her". Next day, when Paulette, the girl who will make Penha's party, appears in Penha's manor to organize the party, Sofia makes Penha embarass herself in front of Paulette several times, saying that her father is a corrupt, and that Maggy will end all of the food in the party, and Penha orders her to go spy Monica. When she founds Maggy and Marina, she asks about Monica, and after they detail all of the pain Monica is going through now, Sofia's conscience wheights too much, and she reachs her breaking point, deciding to reveal Penha's plan, and her part in it, that Penha blackmailed Jim Five using her video invading Agnes's house (Agnes does not appear in the video due to being an magical being) and that she would sent the video to police to make Monica go arrested.
After she reveals everything, the girls start making up a plan to stop Penha, but Sofia says that the house is full of guards and they can't go into it safely. However, Sofia states that she has a plan, and, contrary to what Penha said, she can think very well. Sofia's plan is to Monica enter by the lighthouse side of the manor, as there will be no guard there. Monica succesfully enters, but she's almost caught by Penha, saved in the last second by Sofia, who appears and stands beetween Monica and her. When Penha reappears, however, Sofia is forced to lie down against a wall with Monica on her back, but there is too much pressure, and Monica ends up screaming. Sofia holds Penha to stop her from calling the guards, and stands up in Penha's office door, to give Jim and Monica time to corrupt Penha's video with a virus. Penha uses her Scorn Glare on Sofia, who tries her best to resist, but ends up tapping her foot heavily on the floor, cracking it, and knocking herself out. She only wakes up after Penha is defeated, and the battle has ended. She is a friendly supporting character on the series afterwards.
Appearence[]
Sofia is extemly huge for her age, considerably fat, uses a black shirt with a white tie and collar, and a dark blue skirt. She has a chubby face, always with an apathetic expression, black eyes, blonde hair and a sailor hat with a little blue tape. As a teen, she has basically the same outfit and appearence, despite the fact, that, due to being a more open person, she does many different facial expression, just like the rest of the characters.
Personality[]
In the original comics Sofia is a apathetic, mean, and almost expressionless bully, whose only seen emotions were the evil laughs and happy expression that she delivered when bullied somebody. She is short tempered, but sometimes ignores things around her, as she is very mind-absent.
In Monica Teen, or Adventures, however, Sofia shows the hidden side of her personality, a loving person, whose biggest desire is to have true friends, and people who care about her. Problaby, the reason of this sudden personality change is the time she spend away from the other Pitanga Tree Girls, and the little, yet beautiful time she spends spying Monica's Gang, which made her realize how true friendships works. After her reformation, she became a protective, fun-loving, happy-go-lucky and do gooder girl, becaming a true member of the gang, and a true hero.

Superhuman Condition: For unknown reasons, Sofia disposes a superhuman condition, having physical strength and resistence above the normal, and an special ability to stay immovable, due to both her strength and high wheight. She already was shown to be almost as strong as Monica, as she was able to cut the White Horse of Decay's body in a half, cracks the floor intensely with only one strong tap, resisting to one of Monica's rabbit-hits and using as a form of attack against the latter, and staying immovable even against an actual tractor.
Avarage Intelligence: In the original comics, Sofia is absent minded, and overally stupid, but in Monica Teen she's revealed to now have a fast-thinking mind, good head to create plans, and being one of the bests in her class.
