|~ The royal description of Solaria Butterfly.|
Solaria Butterfly is one of the overarching antagonists (alongside Seth) in the show Star Vs The Forces of Evil. She serves as the posthumous overarching antagonist of the fourth and final season, despite her minor role in the series.
Solaria is the 28th Queen of Mewni and the primary reason why Mina Loveberry is the xenophobic maniac.
Solaria and her brother Jushtin were born to 26th Queen Skywynne Butterfly. When Solaria was born, Justhin had to give the royal wand to her as the Mewni is a matriarchal monarchy. It is unknown why Solaria started to develop an intense hatred of monsters and being prejudged towards them but in the end she vowed to destroy them all whether they were innocent or not. Solaria started to develop a plan to exterminate all monsters one day when the village was attacked by a monster who was aggravated that the mewmans built their village on his nest. Solaria came and defeated the monster and then asked the villagers if they would like serving as her warriors and fight with her to destroy monsters once and for all. However, they declined the offer and told Solaria that she should be doing regular things a queen would do. Disappointed Solaria and her then infant daughter Eclipsa decided to leave and get some candy bars only for young and poor Mina to stop them telling Solaria that her speech was inspirational. Solaria realizing Mina could be a loyal soldier and help her caused Mina to accept the offer, despite the danger she would face on the battlefield. Mina devoted her entire life to serving Solaria even after her death one night when Eclipsa went meeting with her love interest Globgor. Solaria interrupted the meeting and thought that Globgor was going to kill her daughter she then presumably had Rhombulus crystalize Globgor before this had happened Solaria said she was going to kill Globgor which made Eclipsa cry.
Solaria was killed in a monster ambush (presumably ordered by Seth) while her brother died of unknown means.
Although she was killed prior to the events of the series, Solaria's influence on Mina caused her to be very hateful towards monsters. Not only did Mina hate all of the monsters, but she vowed to continue Solaria's legacy by promising to destroy them all and to start her own Solarian army to assist her in the deed. In The Tavern At The End of The Multiverse episode when Star goes into Glossaryck's eye, visibly angered Solaria's ghost and the ghosts of all the other previous queens stare at her while also moving out of the way to reveal that her tapestry was finished. Later in Cleaved, Solaria and the other queens went to the realm of magic to assist Star, Moon, Eclipsa and Meteora in destroying magic with Solaria standing behind Eclipsa who doesn't want her mother to see her. When Mina comes and sees Solaria's ghost among the others, she asks Solaria what she's doing with "the monster smooches." Solaria presents her an grim look and then completely ignores her while letting her get washed away by the magical water when she was attacked by dark milhorse (suggesting Solaria no longer wants anything to have in common with her former soldier). Once all the magic starts being destroyed, Solaria along with Comet and the other queens say their farewells before vanishing from the physical plane of existence forever. Just before her vanishement, Solaria reconciled with Eclipsa who shows Meteora to her. Solaria with a smile gently touches her infant granddaughter and looks at Eclipsa with a pride and then vanishes (this implies that while she hated monsters Solaria realized her mistakes and fully accepted the fact that her granddaughter is half monster and the fact that Globgor is her son-in-law.)
