The story of the Rival Solo from Mega Man Star Force.
Background[]
Solo's hatred for strong relationships stems from his childhood when large groups tormented him maliciously for his unusual appearance. As he grew older, he discovered that while people were stronger in groups, when they were caught off guard and alone, they became weak and helpless, which inspired him to focus solely on personal strength. His EM Wave Change ability is said to be powered by the "lonely voids in people's hearts."
Solo's Mu ancestry is also a driving force in his life; he has known for a long time that he is Mu's sole survivor, though the calamity that befell the Mu tribes is unknown to him. In his quest to restore Mu's greatness, he ends up hunting down Mu technology, which brings him into contact with Dr. Vega and her associates. Vega suggested they collaborate because they both have the same goal (reviving the source of Mu itself - Le Mu), and Solo agreed because it would be more efficient.
Mega Man Star Force 2[]
Geo encounters Solo at the Grizzly Peak Resort and warns him not to get too involved with the UMAs for his own good.
Later, Vega assigned Solo to retrieve a number of artifacts from a museum exhibit on the Lost Tribes of Mu, and Hollow gave him the "Kamikakushi." Solo initially refused the gift, but later accepted it after learning that it was an old piece of Mu technology with access to the "Un-Dimension" and could be used as a storage vehicle. When Solo attempted to attack the museum, he was stopped by Mega Man and Harp Note.
Solo began his hunt for Mega Man after becoming enraged by his failure, particularly the loss of the OOPArt. Solo unleashes the Kamikakushi on the entire town of Echo Ridge, knowing that it will draw Mega Man out. Solo appeared in the sky from a Kamikakushi-born black hole and demanded the OOPArt. Even making a snide remark about how incredible it was that he could beat Hyde. When Mega Man asked if he was one of Hyde's friends, Solo snapped at him and told him to shut his mouth and he doesn't need friends, and he doesn't need Mega Man's presumptions. When Mega Man and Omega-Xis refuse to hand over the Oopart, Solo summons an Ancient Star Carrier. Solo stated that he does not require the assistance of EM Bodies in a fight. Immediately after that, he performed EM Wave Change, claiming that it was done through sheer willpower.
Solo makes an attempt to cast Geo's friends into the Un-Dimension. Mega Man faced off against Rogue in an attempt to save his friends, but was defeated. Rogue mocked him even more and dragged his friends deeper into the Un-Dimension. Mega Man demanded that he return them. Rogue attempts to demonstrate that Mega Man's friends are preventing him from becoming strong, but is proven wrong when Mega Man's bond with his friends activates the OOPart power. He declared Mega Man to be the type of person he despises, and thus their first true battle began. Following his first defeat, an injured Rogue braced himself for a new battle when Hollow summoned him. Solo agreed to carry out his orders and promised they would meet again. He revealed that his name is Solo and that he (Mega Man) should remember it because he will be defeated by the owner of the name.
Solo makes his report upon his return. Despite his stated desire not to be rude, Hyde made a few disparaging remarks about Solo's power. Vega calmed the enraged Solo and pointed out that the OOPArt was an extremely dangerous weapon that had destroyed its own tribe. Hyde suggested that Solo not be allowed to work on his own any longer, to which Solo reacted angrily, declaring Mega Man to be his opponent only. Vega lets Hyde carry on with his own plan, telling Solo not to be angry and he is entirely free to work alone, as he has always done; she does, however, wish that he accompany his associates and their methods.
After Hyde’s plan failed and it was revealed that Mega Man had mastered the OOPArt, Solo only scoffed at his associates. Hollow cautioned Solo to remain calm because he doubted Solo's ability to defeat him. Vega stepped in and offered the Indie Proof, which will give him the ability to compete with it. Solo turned down the "help." It was a shame to Vega, because he's the only one who could use it. She then revealed information about an ancient tribe of people who still believe in Mu, and she asked Solo to handle the mission. He agreed, and as he walked away, Vega mentions that Mu had a connection to that land that he might be interested in. Solo makes no comment and walks away.
He appeared in the country of Whazzap before an amnesiac Bud (as "Budicus," Mu's herald), with the intent to slay what was obviously a lie. Mega Man intervened and fought him, and Rogue was defeated once more by Mega Man, who had now realized the power of the OOPArt. Vega offered the Indie Proof again after his defeat, but this time Hollow explained that only one who has no bond to anyone else could use such an item, and Solo, galled into action, accepted the item. Unfortunately, his body had difficulty adjusting to the power of the Indie Proof, and he spent a significant amount of time in pain.
When Rogue awoke and appeared in Wilshire Hills, his power had risen to a higher level as a result of the Indie Proof - Mega Man couldn't even hurt him in their most recent battle. Harp Note's timely intervention was the only thing that kept Rogue from killing Mega Man.
Harp Note led Mega Man to the Bermuda Maze, Mu's final resting place, where he defeated Hollow, only for Rogue to reappear. Harp Note blasted Mega Man away in a hasty attempt to save him, only for him to return to the fight. When they fought this time, Mega Man's Brother Band with Harp Note had not only been reinstated, but had been reinforced, providing him with power. In a pinch, Rogue reveals that he now possesses the Rogue Sword, but it is still no match for Mega Man. The battle exhausts both of them, allowing Dark Phantom to intervene and retrieve the OOPArt from Mega Man's fallen body.
When Dr. Vega launches her bid to seize control of the continent of Mu, Rogue is not pleased with the idea of Vega making herself queen and breaks from the Neo Mu Empire. Rogue and Hollow reappear as Mega Man approaches the Great Shrine of Le Mu. Mega Man becomes entangled in their fight, and Hollow tries to suck them into the Un-Dimension. Rogue states that he has no intention of allowing Mega Man to help or collaborate with him and frees him by punching him free.
Rogue cleaves the upper portion of Hollow's robe off in the Un-Dimension, revealing a startlingly human face beneath it. Hollow is summoned to Vega before anything else can be done, leaving Rogue in the Un-Dimension. Rogue is not trapped for long, as he escapes just in time to escape the crumbling country.
In the game’s ending, Solo brought Geo back to Echo Ridge, stating himself from responsibility for his actions by claiming Mega Man's "unconscious body was blocking his way out." If the game is completed with all of the Title Screen stars, a different ending occurs: instead of taking Mega Man to Echo Ridge, he takes him to Whazzap Ruins and challenges him to "settle the score." After Mega Man wins, Solo declares that Link Power is still worthless and vows to avenge himself another day.
Mega Man Star Force 3[]
Ace hinted at another person the Satella Police had been hounding in the hopes of getting him to join during his first briefing with the Satella Police Commandos. In an attempt to apprehend them, one of their officers was injured.
Solo makes his appearance as Rogue, interrupting a fight between Mega Man and Jack Corvus by charging his new sword at Jack in an attempt to kill him. Rogue requests that Jack Corvus transport him to his leader. Jack, who had no desire to do so, vanishes. Mega Man tries to thank Rogue, only to be cut off, with Rogue calling him naive and telling him that nothing had changed: the only reason he wasn't concerned with Mega Man was because he was more concerned with Dealer - he once again stated he had no intention of working with him, and told him to tell the Satella Police as well.
When Geo reports back to Ace, it’s revealed that Solo was supposed to be the final member of Ace’s Commandos team. Solo then appears at the National WAZA HQ and Ace quickly asks him to join his team. Following the heckling, Solo appeared to give in, stating that if he was captured, he would join. The Satella Police summons their Wizard, only for Solo's Wizard, Laplace, to quickly take them out. When the Satella Police try again, Solo fights back, this time with a transformed Laplace as his sword. He then scoffed at the Satella Police, declaring that he "wanted nothing to do with such weak cockroaches" and threatening "game over" to anyone who continued to pursue him. He then tells Mega Man that he has his own trump card to use on Dealer and that he shouldn’t get in his way. He also tells him that Dealer has stolen Mu technology and needed to be destroyed.
Not long after, he reappeared in the middle of Geo's classroom, waiting for Jack Corvus, who planned to attack Geo at school. However, due to the high levels of Noise, the electronic classroom doors had all been sealed, prompting Solo to seek the nearest Wave Station as the quickest way to the roof. After confirming the location of the Wave Station on the first floor, he uses Laplace to blast a hole through the floor down to the Teacher's Lounge, and then another through the wall of the Lounge into the main hallway - the vast Noise presence preventing anyone else from proceeding to the roof except him and Mega Man. After Pulsing In, the two warriors discovered strange Noise Waves impeding their progress. Within these Waves were strange creatures made of Noise that Rogue had encountered previously and nearly killed him - much to Mega Man's chagrin, Rogue informed Mega Man that they needed to work together, with Mega Man clearing away the excess volatile Noise to allow Rogue to strike at the beast.
They engaged in four battles. Rogue, clearly enraged by this incident, as well as Mega Man's upbeat attitude toward the upcoming contest with Jack Corvus. They immediately abandoned all pretenses of charity and teamwork, and proceeded to attack Mega Man. It resulted in Rogue's defeat; Rogue vanished, his interest and ability to apprehend Jack Corvus no longer sufficient to prompt action.
Being the hot headed member of the organization, this was Solo’s motive for going after Jack, as the former would leave a trail of leads to Dealer.
Mega Man made his way through the Crimson Machine’s final zone while the Commandos led the assault on Dealer’s Secret Shelter. Mega Man discovers the Master Control system to be the piece of Mu tech, being the most powerful defensive system. Mega Man was left undoubtedly shocked and completey without mercy when the system shut itself down, letting Rogue accomplished his goal. In the depths of Meteor G, Rogue made his next appearance. There, he kills Corvus and Virgo, who had turned against Jack and Queen Tia. After killing the two only remaining members of Dealer, Solo was able to succeeded in destroying the criminal organization, and agreed to Mega Man’s request to take Jack and Tia back to Earth, but threatened to leave them if they slow him down.
As Mega Man's battle with the Crimson Dragon came to an end, Kelvin Stelar called out to every Hunter-VG on the planet, urging everyone to set the same goal of returning Geo to his family. Solo, who had arrived in Echo Ridge along with Queen Tia and Jack, had also heard the call. Surprisingly, he agrees with Jack's suggestion that the three of them use Dealer's Orbital Base to locate Mega Man, citing the fact that their battle had not been decisively won.
Post-Game Mission[]
While Mega Man hunts down Sirius, he meets up with Solo, who wants to retrieve the Mu Metal and use it to enhance his sword. However, he would have to wait two days for its cycle to force the Mu Metal free of Sirius' body, which would be enough time for the Server to consume Planet FM, in order to do so safely. Mega Man was starting a strong dislike to Solo’s attitude just like their past encounters. He cited Solo’s bond to Mu as the reason of his motives, transforming the nature of the conflict into a battle over who had stronger bonds—Mega Man's with his planet and brother Cepheus, or Solo's with Mu. Solo refuted Mega Man's version of what happened, saying he was going to kill Mega Man just for fun. It was almost as if he had been caught off guard.
Rogue lost again, but the experience altered his perspective; he now regards Mega Man with grudging respect and acknowledges that only he has the maturity to protect his bonds. Rogue quickly gave Mega Man access to the Black Hole Server despite saying that words could never bring them together; however, after he left, Mega Man was left questioning whether he had made the right decision.
Shooting Star Rockman Tribe (Anime)[]
Solo appears as the anti-villain/anti-hero in the anime.
Solo has a similarly solitary nature, as depicted in the anime. He has goals that are opposite to those of Mu, and he speaks significantly less than in his original appearance; most of his dialogue occurs in his final appearance. This stands in stark contrast to his gaming counterpart. In the game, Solo is fueled by fear and has a disdain for friendship, leading him to become a true loner. In the anime, however, this version of Solo does not embrace loneliness but rather feels the urge to connect with others. Another key difference lies in their relationships with Mu. In the game, Solo is the last descendant of Mu, while the anime version of Solo is an actual Murian who has existed for over 10,000 years. This distinction emphasizes the difference in Solo's age as portrayed in "Megaman Star Force 2." In the game canon, Solo is depicted as a younger character, around 13 years old, while the anime presents him as being over 12,000 years old.
Another change is that he does not ally himself with Dr. Vega as in the games. With the exception of Dr. Vega and Hollow, all of the villains from the game are working independently. On the other hand, Solo is only referred to as Rogue in the anime, the designation of Solo's EM Wave transmuted form.
Rogue's first appearance was in a theater-scale classroom in Densan University, where he intruded on a gathering between Dr. Vega, Geo Stelar, and Omega-Xis by shooting a gap in the divider. He spared no time in attacking, and the impact from his Flying Knuckle strike sent Dr. Vega flying, however she was spared by Hollow getting her - Mega Man, by examination, develops by recurrence hopping to a different corridor. Rogue paused and instantly gathered a cutting edge from inside his left arm. Rogue rapidly and effectively commanded Mega Man, his assaults demonstrating sadly great, with how he could undoubtedly thump the majority of Geo's assaults back. Rogue additionally showed unfathomable reflexes like lightning, as exemplified when he evaded a vulcan shot from seemingly point-clear range or when he could, without much of a stretch. He avoided Mega Man's fast Stream Assault battle card, prior to Rogue demonstrating the ability to counterattack Mega Man by putting his hand through his back, grabbing his face, and then throwing him. During the fight, Omega-Xis communicates worry to Mega Man over an unusual strength which Rogue was attacking them with.
Dr. Vega, trying to find what was going on, instantly started going through every one of the information contained in her PC, where she found the image on the warrior's chest to be the Crest of Mu. As Mega Man kept on being overpowered, Dr. Vega and Hollow enacted and discharged the Jamming Beam, a weapon planned particularly to meddle with electromagnetic wave lifeforms and people in EM Wave Change, which had struck Rogue when he was centred around Mega Man, causing him noteworthy damage, allowing Mega Man to get in one last shot and thrashing Rogue with a Cannon Battle Card, driving Rogue to withdraw. In the quick fallout, Dr. Vega could give the solution to Geo's inquiry - the warrior's name.
His underlying endeavor to reclaim the Sword of Zerker from Mega Man's body deflated, Rogue turned to view over the city. As Solo, he searched out Geo with the expectation of again endeavoring to recover the Sword, even really getting into a fight with a couple of hooligans who tragically got in his direction - he found Geo in the recreation center by a little show bowl, talking about the OOPArts with Sonia and Cancer Bubble. As he approached, Solo took out a Star Carrier with the Mu crest on it before he Wave Changed into Rogue, startlingly without the help of another EM living thing, which the various three EM creatures noted, and Omega-Xis understanding that the unusual inclination that Rogue gave him was the nonattendance of an EM being. Rogue squandered no time in propelling an assault on the gathering, influencing Geo and Sonia to change accordingly. The following battle between Mega Man, Harp Note, Cancer Bubble and Rogue, while less uneven than prior, was in any case unmistakably to support Rogue. Solo centered exclusively around assaulting Geo yet again and overwhelming him, which gives Harp Note chance to assault him, making him be thumped back by Mega Man. Geo endeavoured to complete him with a Missile Battle Card, to which Rogue figured out how to stage through the assault to their stun.
Irritated by Harp Note's impedance, he sent an assault at her, to which Cancer Bubble meddled, expressing that he would secure Sonia, before Rogue kicked him that amusingly sent him taking off. He, at that point, concentrated on getting Sonia off the beaten path and charged at her. Harp Note attempted to stop him with Quick Strings, which Solo effectively sliced through before striking her, which she hindered with the Harp Guitar, yet the power was solid that it instantly thumped Sonia out of her change and lost cognizance from it. Mega Man got furious by that and attempted to discharge Cannon shots at him, which he effortlessly avoided. Mega Man at that point solidified the ground with Freeze Knuckle, and keeping in mind that it prevented him from running with his legs encased in ice, he could stage through it at last, smiling in entertainment when he did. While found napping by that, Rogue got in close with him and hit him with the Rogue Fist combo that sent him slamming against the stage, before sending a shockwave that thumped Geo out while still changed.
Rogue approached Omega-Xis, stepped on the EM being's head, and continued to do so a few times while Omega-Xis was still trying to recover while still connected to Mega Man. Previously Rogue held the sword over his head, evidently expecting to part open Omega-Xis' make a beeline for recover the OOPArt, which started to by one way or another reason the OOPArt inside Omega-Xis to respond, as it sent pulsanations. Just before Rogue made the assault, the Sword of Zerker enacted and considered forward the intensity of Thunder Zerker, a lot shockingly. Rogue endeavored to send a shockwave assault at him, yet Mega Man Thunder Zerker utilized his freshly discovered forces to slice through the assault and, after that, sent his own assault to Rogue, compelling Rogue to withdraw.
Rogue struck again when Mega Man and Dark Phantom were looking at old pyramids for clues of the remaining OOPArts - Hyde and Phantom generally had the kept running of the place, for the Sword of Zerker had again actuated, however its capacity was acting freely of Geo's control. The Murian seemed similar as Geo and Omega-Xis effectively counteracted Thunder Zerker, Where Solo started assaulting the general population to constrain Mega Man to show up, which functioned as it incited Geo and Omega-Xis to consolidate into Mega Man. Not withstanding their endeavors, Rogue again immediately attacked them - showing his new use of Battle Cards all the while. Geo was whipped so altogether, he lost awareness, leaving Omega-Xis to attempt and avoid Rogue while hauling Mega Man's oblivious body. Geo was experiencing the preliminary stages of the Sword achievement when he finally mastered the full intensity of Thunder Zerker's abilities. With this newfound power, he was able to crush Maverick, the last opponent who had shown surprise at Geo's mastery of Zerker's intensity.
Rogue's last natural appearance was in the profundities of an underground give in underneath an old Ninja school, where Mega Man, Dark Phantom, and Yeti Blizzard had all accumulated looking for the last OOPArt: the Star of Ninja. Rogue met with Mega Man and promptly assaulted him, yet Omega-Xis advised Geo to end it rapidly, driving Geo to enter in Thunder Zerker frame. In the resulting challenge, the nearness of every one of the three OOPArts' forces, called forward a crowd of EM Virus and somewhat opened the entryway of Mu itself, releasing wave after flood of vitality. In the resulting perplexity, Dark Phantom stole the Ninja OOPArt and Rogue, who had moved toward the door trying to reseal it by hitting the entryway with his sword, was rather brought past it, which vanished in the wake of recovering him.
At the point when Mega Man and Harp Note later gone through the entryway and entered Mu, they find Solo dozing inside the bounds of an abnormal case, recouping from his injuries. At the point when Harp Note unintentionally discharged him from the container, Solo gotten her arm, alarming the young lady, as he tumbled down with Geo taking hold of him stressed. The depleted Solo quickly started to caution them of Le Mu and how he couldn't be resuscitated. As they kept on talking about the risk, Solo uncovered he was the last overcomer of Mu, and had fixed himself away with Le Mu trying to keep its arrival - an assignment that had cost the lives of the majority of his companions. His obligation restricts him from counteracting Le Mu's arrival, and he looks to keep the initiation of the three OOPArts, every one of which contains a bit of Le Mu's capacity. As Dr. Vega, Hollow, and their new partners Yeti Blizzard and Dark Phantom moved to put the three OOPArts into position, Solo again progressed toward becoming Rogue and followed them, in spite of how Geo demanded that he was excessively harmed, making it impossible to continue onward.
Rogue seemed soon after Dr. Vega started gathering Le Mu, his endeavors to stop her bewildered by her ever-prepared worker, Hollow. Their fight, a standout amongst the most extreme Rogue had been seen in, took them both to the external scopes of the Murian mainland - attempt as he may, however, the depleted Rogue demonstrated no counterpart for his adversary, and was inevitably found with Hollow's hand fastened around his throat. Rogue was spared unintentionally by Dr. Vega getting back to Hollow back to her to keep Mega Man from meddling with the restoration of Le Mu, however, Hollow demonstrated unfit to prevent Mega Man from connecting every one of the three OOPArts and turning into the Tribe King, who was powerful to the point that Hollow was not just crushed in a moment, he was cloven clear in two and left to tumble to consuming ruin. At the point when Tribe King Mega Man, Harp Note, Cancer Bubble, and Bob Copper got away back to Earth, they found Le Mu had stirred and was endeavoring to tear its way through the entryway. Rogue showed up and, utilizing the last remnants of his strength to hold Le Mu off, taught Mega Man to seal the entry utilizing the intensity of the OOPArts, guiding him the stones would know in light of Mega Man's delay. As Tribe King Mega Man released the Czar Delta Breaker, Rogue vanished with Le Mu back through the entryway, which vanished in like manner. The fate of the continent of Mu and Solo remain unknown at the end of the anime.
