Sarah Fier: It's you!
Solomon: I'm still me. I've always been me. Only I've grown tired of watching fortune turn a blind eye to me.
Sarah Fier: How could you!?
Solomon: How could I what? Take what we all want? What we all came here for? Power, prosperity, legacy. Consider, Sarah... a single soul... Just one. And in return... what no amount of praying could ever bring. One person every few years seems a small price to pay.
~ Solomon justifying his actions.

Solomon Goode is the overarching antagonist of Netflix's Fear Street trilogy.

Solomon is the direct cause of the Shadyside's curse, creating it after making a Faustian bargain with Satan himself. Solomon would sell the soul of a single person every few years in exchange for money and influence, transforming in the most beloved and respected member of the Goode family, that would follow his dark steps for generations to come.

He was portrayed by Ashley Zukerman, who also played Nick Goode.

Biography[]

Solomon is a member of the Goode family, a really powerful lineage that has its roots in the old settlement of Union back in 1666. Despite his connections to the powerful family, Solomon believed he could gain his own life by working as a farmer in the outskirts of the settlement. Unfortunately for him, everything went awry. His wife and kid died from an unknown disease and the lands turned to be more infertile than he believed. He would then transform in an outcast of the family, with only his brother encouraging him to give up and return to Union. Solomon fell in love with a young woman named Sarah Fier, who he saw with different eyes thanks to the fact that he was not an overly religious fanatic like the others.

Solomon thought himself to not be worthy of bearing the Goode name. Tired of his bad luck, he decided to turn the tides: He would kill an old witch called The Widow and steal a grimoire of her, so he could make a bargain with the Devil. Solomon would sell a single soul of a Union member, so the demon could possess him and make him go in a murder spree. The blood shed by the victims would feed the demon's powers, that grew in the form of a demonic heart in the center of an underground maze. In return, Solomon would get everything he wanted. His scheme would be discovered by Sarah herself, who Solomon tried to convince to turn on his side. Both of them would engage on a brutal fight that resulted on Sarah's hand being severed, and Solomon framing her for all his doings. After Sarah's execution, he would share this knowledge with his whole family so they could be more powerful than ever. By doing this, Solomon turned in the most influential and respected member of his family, securing himself a legacy. As time passed, the Goodes moved from Union and formed Sunnyvale, a rich town where nothing bad happens, while Union would turn on Shadyside. Even after his death, Solomon's legacy would continue as his family secured their power by selfishly selling the souls of Shadysiders for more than three centuries.

HIs legacy comes to an end when his modern descendant Nick Goode is killed and thus ending the Satanic grip he and his family had established on Shadyvile forever.

Personality[]

Solomon is shown to be a generally affable and caring person in the exterior. Unlike most members of Union, he isn't particularly devoted to Christianity nor is a bible fanatic, making him a very reasonable individual. However, Solomon is in reality a ruthless and selfish person that would do anything to get what he wants. He seems to know no limits as not even the deaths of children slowed him down in continuing with his deal. Despite being capable of feeling love and not necessarily sadistic, Solomon was too determined in getting out of his outcast status that not even Sarah was spared of his selfish goals. He has a superiority complex that makes him believe he is mentally and morally above Union just for the fact that they are religious, viewing them as nothing more than cattle.
