Soren is the tritagonist of Netflix‘s The Dragon Prince franchise.
He is the son of Lord Viren and the leader of the Crown Guard, who was in charge of protecting the king. Although he ultimately just wanted to help the kingdom of Katolis, his desire to please his father caused him to initially go down a dark path, although he quickly changed after seeing how bad his father was and chose to become a member of Team Zym.
Soren is voiced by Jesse Inocalla.
Appearance[]
Soren was tall and muscular and is described by multiple characters as handsome. He had blond hair and was never seen without his Katolis armor. Sometime after the battle of the Storm Spire, he started to grow a beard.
Personality[]
Soren is a very prideful person, who enjoys receiving compliments and oftentimes makes dumb decisions because of his pride. This stems from having a neglectful father, who favored his sister over him because learned magic, causing Soren to feel the constant need to prove himself. This caused Soren to put others down to make himself feel better and commit morally ambiguous acts in order to please Viren. He occasionally showed a noticeable lack of empathy, lying to the princes about their father being alive. However, Soren had his limits and when he attempted to kill the princes under Viren's orders he began to understand that his father was sinking into evil and pulling both his children in with him.
Ultimately Soren was a kind and loyal individual, who just wanted to be a good knight, brother, and son. He did anything he could to help his friends, even "killing" his father he was once so loyal to in order to protect Ezran, although he hated himself for it. He was also becoming very empathetic about other people's feelings and went out of his way to find people he could help.
Soren was generally an easy-going person, who enjoyed making puns and jokes to lighten a situation. He wasn't book smart, but he did have a certain wit about him.

Young Life[]
Soren was born to High Mage Viren and his wife Lissa in Katolis, who gave birth to Claudia just a few years later. Growing up, he was close to his father and sister. At some point he caught a horrible illness. Viren used dark magic to save him, but Lissa, thinking that her husband used magic too much, divorced him over it. Soren and Claudia both decided to stay with their father.

- Soren's paternal grandparents are deceased; Viren confirmed this upon briefly becoming king.
