~ Souji Kihara |
Souji Kihara is the main antagonist of A Certain Scientific Dark Matter, a spin-off of the A Certain Magical Index franchise.
He is a member of the Kihara Family and the leader of DA Arouse, a rouge group within Anti-Skill. He seeks to restart the Dark May Project and create an esper power similar to Accelerator's by abducting a girl named Ringo Yuzuriha, a former test subject. He serves as the archenemy of Teitoku Kakine.
He is voiced by Atsushi Tamaru.
Appearance[]
Souji is a young man with short ashy grey hair and matching eyes. He wears a white lab coat with black sleeves over his black shirt, a pair of black pants, a pair of black gloves, and black shoes. He also has piercings on his right ear.
Personality[]
Souji is a rather eccentric and frivolous individual with a laidback and jovial demeanor. He is shown to be quite talkative, going on long monologues in the middle of a conversation with an opponent, and tends to sing when in anticipation of something. Being a Kihara, Souji has a blatant disregard for human life, willing to commit the most heinous acts in the name of science. He shows no concern for his test subjects or subordinates, seeing them as replacable. Souji believes that everything in the world has a replacement and that anything can be expendable. Souji is also very arrogant and egocentric, taking pride in his research and intellect. Whenever someone insults him or his research, Souji will drop his cheerful façade and adopt a more calmer, aggressive personality.
Moreover, Souji is shown to take interest in strange abilities. During Kakine's battle with a brainwashed Ringo, Souji took the opportunity to analyze both their powers in the clash. Even after nearly losing consciousness from being overloaded with data, Souji continued to analyze the phenemena until his death at the hands of Kakine.
Biography[]
Souji's full background and personal history is unknown. What is known is that he was once affliated with the Dark May Project. He is also shown to be acquainted with Amata Kihara.
Abilities[]
Genius Intellect: As a member of the Kihara Family, Souji is an extremely intelligent and crafty individual who has great scientific prowess and is a prodigious researcher and inventor. He is best known for his work in cyborg development via mechanical prosthetics, having created several highly advanced cybernetic prosthetic limbs such as arms, legs and hands. He is also skilled in engineering and creating acoustic based technology, as show when he created a unique sound frequency that was meant to agitate Ringo Yuzuriha's brain and put it in an immensely painful state of stress in order to make her powers run out of control.
Brainwashing Techniques: Souji has displayed a powerful form of brainwashing. This is best shown when he was able to brainwash the members of DA by "substituting" their sense of "supreme justice" into his orders, effectively making them believe that everything and anything he says and orders to them is "absolute justice", thus making them follow his orders without question and dedicate their already fanatical zealotry into fulfilling his orders, even at the cost of their own well being. He was also able to brainwash Ringo and separated her mind from her body and force her to watch as she fought Kakine.
