Whoever they're told. Laser marks the target, they attach to the scent, don't stop till it's dead. Inescapable. Those idiots making hybrids had it all wrong.
~ Soyona Santos.

Soyona Santos, also known as the Broker, is the secondary antagonist of the 2022 film Jurassic World: Dominion, the sixth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise and the main antagonist of the 2024 Netflix animated series, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, the sequel series to Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

She is a dinosaur trafficker who worked at both Amber Clave Night Market and Biosyn.

She is portrayed and voiced by Dichen Lachman, who also played Jiaying in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Anya in The 100 and Roulette in Supergirl.

Biography[]

Santos was hired by Biosyn to steal Maisie and Beta. After Rainn Delacourt brought Maisie and Beta to Malta she supervised them until they were put in airplanes to go to the BioSyn sanctuary. She then met Delacourt and was going to sell him four Atrociraptors genetically engineered to attack on laser command. The sale was interrupted by the combined CIA and French Intelligence team, led by Barry Sembene. After a chase with the truck Atricoraptors were in CIA team cornered Santos. She opened the Atricoraptor cages and used the laser command system to make Atricoraptors attack the team.

While the dinosaurs attack the team, Santos flees but followed by Claire Dearing. They fight in an apartment. The fight goes on until Claire uses a shock gun on her. Claire interrogates Santos and makes her tell her where Maisie was taken to, and she reveals that she was taken to Biosyn HQ in Dolomites Mountain Range in Italy.

Santos later goes to where Atricoraptors have been let out. She is met by Barry who arrests her along with several CIA contractors. Finally, Santos holds a laser beam to Owen Grady as revenge. Owen is later followed by the raptors. It is unknown what happened to her following her arrest, as well as Dodgson's death, but it is heavily implied that she was sent to prison for her crimes.

Personality[]

Santos is callous and cruel. Unhesitatingly sending raptors onto people so they'll get killed. She is arrogant and seems to have a wicked sense of humor. She is also shown to be petty and vengeful when sending raptors onto Owen even though he was already caught by that point.

Trivia[]

  • Soyona is the fourth canon female human antagonist in the franchise, predated by Irene Corts, Dr. Laura Sorkin, and Tiff.
  • She is one of the only three human villains in the Jurassic Park cinematic franchise who's confirmed to not be killed by dinosaurs (or die at all), alongside Kenji Kon and Henry Wu. She is also the only female villain in the cinematic franchise who didn't get killed by dinosaurs, unlike Tiff and Lana Molina.
  • She is one of the two human villains in the Jurassic Park cinematic franchise to be arrested, alongside Daniel Kon. After Daniel Kon's death, Soyona is the only human villain known still alive with Atrociraptor Handler.
    • While some fans find it ambiguous on whether she was sent to prison, one of the Biosyn employees were apparently told by her that Owen and Claire are on Kayla's plane, although she may have found a way to communicate while imprisoned somehow.
  • Although not specified its possible that white is her favorite color due to always wearing it in the movie and the show.
