Sparkstalker is a minor antagonist in Generation One of the Transformers franchise. He is based on a figure in the 1988 toyline.
Marvel Comics[]
Sparkstalker first appeared in the UK-exclusive story "Enemy Action", along with fellow Firecons Cindersaur and Flamefeather. The trio were sent to Earth by the Decepticons on Cybertron to make contact with the future Decepticon Galvatron and offer him an alliance. In the process, they encountered the Sparkabots. A fight broke out, with Sparkstalker battling Sizzle, but it became redundant when Galvatron appeared and rejected the offer. Sparkstalker reappeared in "Deadly Games", where he and the other Firecons assisted the alien Zabra by providing him with captive Autobots for gladiatorial games. They made a quick retreat when Ultra Magnus and the Sparkabots brought an end to the practice.
Sparkstalker made his only on-panel Marvel US appearance in Issue #46, where he and the other Firecons acted as gaolers on Cybertron. They sent captive Autobots Fizzle, Sizzle and Backstreet to Earth as part of Scorponok's plan to test the Roadjammer bounty hunters.
In the "Demons" storyline, Sparkstalker, along with Cindersaur, Ruckus and Windsweeper, investigated the disappearance of a group of Decepticons. They initially suspected the Autobot Classic Pretenders, but later learned a group of energy-sucking demons were responsible, and fought them alongside the Autobots until Emirate Xaaron found a way to over-feed them.
He was mentioned in Issue #79 as the only casualty of the Decepticon assault on Klo, having been accidentally incinerated by Cindersaur.
