Biography[]
Cartoon[]
Spasma appeared in the concluding three-part miniseries "The Rebirth", where he was a member of the Hive, the totalitarian rulers of Nebulos. When the Autobots and Decepticons came to Nebulos and the Autobots allied with the Nebulan resistance, Hive leader Lord Zarak made a deal with the Decepticons to mirror the Autobots and become their Headmaster and Targetmaster partners. Spasma was selected to partner Apeface, with he and Krunk, partnered with Snapdragon, warning their partners not to mess with them. After gaining the Plasma Energy Chamber Key from the Autobots, the group headed back to Cybertron to aid Galvatron before being forced to evacuate aboard Scorponok.
Marvel Comics[]
Spasma first appeared in the Headmasters miniseries as a nervous member of the Nebulan Council of Elders, who was unnerved by the anti-Autobot demonstrations arranged by the corrupt Lord Zarak. When the Decepticons arrived on Nebulos, Spasma was taken prisoner by them. Zarak convinced the Decepticons led by Scorponok to use their captives to undergone the Headmaster process that had given the Autobots their edge, with Spasma partnered with Apeface. He took part in the first battle with the Autobot Headmasters, where they manage to ambush and capture their foes after forcing them to break off from the battle to rescue Nebulan councillors. Spasma took part in similar battles against the Autobots as Zarak extended his influence over the planet, before he and his opposite number Galen agreed to lead the Autobots and Decepticons to Earth to prevent further destruction.
Spasma's only real appearance in the main comic was in Issue #49 when Scorponok's Decepticons met with the Earth Decepticon faction led by Ratbat. When Ratbat was dismissive about the value of organic life, Lord Zarak revealed himself as Scorponok's Headmaster partner, with Spasma and the others following suit. Spasma was presumably killed when Apeface was destroyed battling Unicron.
