Special Agent Greer is the supporting antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Smoked". Greer is an ATF agent whose actions endanger rape victim Annette Fox due to his illegal moves in his informant work with Greer's CI, Eddie Skinner.
He was portrayed by Chilean-American actor Pedro Pascal, who also portrayed Dave York in The Equalizer 2, Agent Whiskey in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Paolo in Dishonored 2, Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman: 1984, and Joel Miller in The Last of Us.
Biography[]
Greer was an agent assigned to Skinner, a repeat offender, when he turned state's evidence to get his prison sentences reduced. Skinner was the vital contact in a cigarette smuggling and tax evasion bust the ATF needed him for. Greer also made the reckless move of giving Skinner a pistol to protect himself with, which Skinner used to kill Annette after the rapist she reported, Luke Ronson, hired Skinner to harass her. When Skinner was arrested for Annette's murder, he called Greer to take him back into the ATF's custody. The agency made an agreement: once Skinner pulled off the sting with the agents, he'd go back into SVU custody. The bust was successful, but Skinner fled the moment the agents arrived, striking Greer in his temple with a crowbar to escape. Skinner was arrested after taking Ronson hostage for not paying Skinner yet for the harassment campaigns. Skinner offered a plea deal, where he gave up Ronson, but also Greer for supplying the gun. The detectives angrily confronted him, and Greer defended his actions due to the high-caliber operations they handled, as well as believing Skinner's lies that he needed the weapon for self-defense. Greer was most appalled that his boss warranted his arrest, let alone that he was put in the same cell as Skinner and Ronson. Annette's daughter Jenna, who watched Annette die, arrived at the precinct and shot all three of them. Greer and Ronson were killed, Skinner possibly dying from the extent of his injuries, but Jenna also killed and injured innocent bystanders, including Sister Peg. She was shot dead by Detective Elliot Stabler.
