| ~ Spooky to the Protagonist in the Bad Ending. |
The Protagonist, also known as Specimen 14, is the main protagonist of the Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion series, being the character that the Player controls.
Appearance[]
The Protagonist is never really seen when starting the game. However, in the Bad Ending, a rather young person of an unknown gender with short hair and red eyes (which can be further proved with Specimen 6's death screen) carrying a bloody axe is shown. Their clothing and limbs can be seen in Unknown Specimen 4's death screen; they wear light blue jeans, black tennis shoes, and a long-sleeve shirt. Both Specimen 6 and Unknown Specimen 4's death screens show the protagonist with pale skin.
Biography[]
The Protagonist is a person who loves history and lives in a town near Spooky's Mansion, which was a mystery to the town's inhabitants, and decided one day to go to Spooky's mansion to discover its backstory.
Specimen Ending[]
If the Protagonist hits any specimens that go beyond the counter of 20, they will end up becoming a specimen themselves. This is explicitly stated to be a bad ending.
Ghost Ending[]
The Protagonist dies in such a tragic way that they become a ghost, and they join Spooky's army. Though it is called the "good ending," it is "good" only in the sense that it is not stated to be a bad ending, as they will still side with Spooky, and the true goal is still left unresolved.
Joke Ending[]
The Protagonist finally escapes the mansion and tells everyone about the mansion and what they encountered; however, nobody believes them, but they somehow live on.
Dollhouse Ending[]
The Protagonist finally escapes the mansion as it collapses. However, there are two different endings depending on the state of the hellgate: the world is rampant with Specimens, as the bad ending, or they brought a peaceful end to Spooky and the mansion's inhabitants. The latter is considered the true good ending of the story.
Personality[]
As stated above, the Protagonist is a history enthusiast who decides to solve the mystery of the mansion near their local town. Despite the horrors within the abode and its high risk of death, they keep moving forward. In the Bad Ending, The Protagonist turns into a murderous specimen, while in the good ending, The Protagonist is willing to help Spooky stop people from calling ghosts cute.
In the good Dollhouse ending, the Protagonist finally escapes the mansion and frees Spooky and everyone else, or doesn't and leaves the world in a doomed state.
