The Spy Robot, also known as the Bug Robot, is an intelligent remote tracking device created by Dr. Gero and a minor but key antagonist in the Android and Cell Sagas of Dragon Ball Z as well as an unseen antagonist in the Tenshinhan, King Piccolo, Piccolo Jr. and Saiyan Sagas of Dragonball/Z.
Biography
The Spy Robot was created by Dr. Gero following the destruction of the Red Ribbon Army by Goku with the goal of collecting data from Goku and his friends in order to help him create the Red Ribbon Androids and later his ultimate creation, Cell. It spied on Goku's life all the way from the 22nd World Martial Tournament to the Android Saga, collecting all the data needed as well as the genetics from the greatest fighters such as Goku, Piccolo Jr., Vegeta, Frieza and King Cold in order to use them for the creation of Cell. It went unnoticed by the Z-fighters, as the first time they heard of it was is when Dr. Gero and later Cell explained it to them how they knew such much information about them and how their genetics were gathered. When Cell told Piccolo Jr. that the Spy Robot was spying on them at the moment, Piccolo fired a blast, destroying it and preventing it from collecting any more genetics for the creation of Present Cell.
Powers and Abilities
Even though the Spy Robot is not created for combat, it's very durable as it survived despite being close to many destructive battles such as Goku's fights with King Piccolo and Piccolo Jr., Goku's and Piccolo's fight with Raditz, the battle against Nappa and Vegeta and even the battles with Mecha Frieza/King Cold, the Androids and Imperfect Cell when power levels were in the millions. However, it wasn't strong enough to survive a blast from Piccolo who was recenlty fused with Kami.
