The Spyborg is a character in the Star Fox series. Created by Andross in a base that was set up in Sector X, it went berserk and tore its way out, searching for its creator.
Physical Appearance
The Spyborg's body slightly resembles a R.O.B. unit, though only from the waist up, for there is nothing of it below that point. It has a second head beneath its first one, allowing it to survive its first defeat. If you look closely at its face, you can see a red, circular panel placed on the Spyborg's second head, which matches the communications channel portrait that it sports.
Skills and Abilities
It has the ability to detach its arms and use them like a battering ram and can spin them around its body.
Biography
Prior to the events of the level, General Pepper informs them of Andross creating a secret weapon.
When Star Fox arrives, they find the base in ruins and investigate how it happened.
Eventually they find the cause of the destruction when they come across Spyborg who proceeds to attack them.
Spyborg seemingly perishes when Fox blows its head off, but Spyborg reactivates and resumes attacking, thus Fox must shoot into the robot's eye to destroy it. If Fox takes too long to destroy Spyborg, Slippy will try to attack it only for Spyborg to smack him and send him flying down to Titania.
Trivia
- The Spyborg is the only boss to have no subtitle when it is introduced in Star Fox 64 3D.
- Fox McCloud and Falco Lombardi give the Spyborg's gender as male.
