The Stag is a minor antagonist in Adventure Time. He is a mutant deer with a disturbing and silent attitude who serves as the main antagonist in "No One Can Hear You".
Personality[]
Although not much is revealed about the Stag's personality, from what is revealed, he is cruel and sadistic. While in the beginning of the episode, he comes off as nothing more than a simple deer, however, he seems to have the ability to understand speech, as he taunts Finn after he calls him out for breaking his legs. As well as having a seemingly human-like intellect and skill of planning, as he was able to keep the entire Candy Kingdom prisoner under the sewers as a source of sugar for himself for an extended period of time despite facing dangerous foes like Peppermint Butler, Princess Bubblegum, Jake the Dog, and Finn the Human.
Biography[]
In the episode where he makes his debut, he is attacking the Candy Kingdom by licking and attacking the inhabitants. He knocks Finn and Jake out for an extended period of time before they are able to stop him.
As Finn wakes up, he soon finds out that Jake has gone insane due to brain damage given by The Stag, as he states that everyone has been planning a surprise birthday party for him for 6 whole months (albeit this time is debated by fans). It is then later revealed that the Stag was able to keep going with his evil plan for an unknown amount of time in the basement with a sticky substance.
After being discovered he reveals his true form and that he has human hands. He attacks Finn and Jake but is defeated by the two of them by being knocked out by a couple of bricks before being pushed into the whirlpool. The Stag appears again in "Sons Of Mars" in which he is transformed into a telescope by Magic Man.
Trivia[]
- A similar looking deer appears again in "Hero Heart" and in "Skyhooks II", with finally an enemy version of the character appearing in Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know! However, whether these are the same deer as The Stag or just a repeated design, is unclear.
- Although Jake said that it had been six months since The Stag had knocked Finn out, this is debated due to Jake's insanity through out the episode. So how long he kept his plan going for is unknown.
