Perkins was sentenced to six years in prison for illegally selling prescription drugs. After being released he moved to Harlan to ship Oxycontin with his "nephews", taking up residence in the old Givens house where he had to pay Arlo Givens rent.
The Lord of War and Thunder[]
Stan returns home to find that Arlo has vandalised his property in revenge for not paying his rent. He calls the police on Arlo, and Hunter Mosley is sent to deal with the situation. Hunter attempts to resolve the situation by ordering the two men to shake hands and forcing Arlo to agree to pay for the damage, but Arlo knees Stan in the groin and is arrested by Hunter. Stan then checks the secret compartment containing his drugs, finding it empty.
Perkins and his "nephews" go to Arlo's house and find his wife Helen, demanding that she give up Arlo's location. When asked Perkins admits he plans to kill Arlo if he finds him. Helen grabs a knife and attempts to stab him but is tackled to the floor by one of the "nephews" and brutalized. Arlo retaliates by beating the "nephews" up with a baseball bat before suffering a heart attack and being taken to hospital.
Arlo's son, US marshal Raylan Givens, discovers Perkins's operation from Johnny Crowder and goes round to interrogate him. He explains that he used to hide in the bedroom when Arlo was raging and asks if he wants to see his favourite hiding place. He then proceeds to open the secret compartment and finds the drugs, much to Stan's confusion. Stan tries to run but is incapacitated by Raylan hitting him in the shin and tells Raylan that the drugs were missing last time he looked, causing Raylan to realize that Arlo planted the drugs back in Stan's house. Stan is then arrested.
