Starro the Conquorer is the main antagonist of the Comic Book Series RWBY/ Justice League. Hailing from a separate dimension, he came to Remnant after being pursued by the Green Lantern Jessica Cruz. The rift that brought them to Remnant caused a time dilation, where Starro landed in Remnant's ocean 16 years before the events of RWBY Volume 1

History[]

Taking place between Volume 1 and 2, Starro had built his strength over the course of 16 years. Here he used his telepathy to take control of the Creatures of Grimm. In doing so, Starro granted them the ability to put victims under his control just by looking directly into their eyes. Among those who became Starro's soldiers included Team JNPR, General Ironwood, and most of Beacon Academy. When one was under this spell, the victim would have a purple star mark covering their face.

Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao-Long would first discover something was wrong while visiting home during their Semester Break. Here they met Clark Kent, a local who had helped their father Taiyang with farm work in their absence. Clark would show off his multitude of abilities, going up against the controlled Grimm. Clark would momentarily fall under Starro's control, only for Ruby to break him out of it.

Upon returning to Beacon with Clark, the trio were greeted by Weiss and Blake who brought their own new friends, Bruce and Diana respectively. Prof Ozpin greeted the group, revealing that most of the students and staff were missing, save himself. He tasks them to find help as most other huntsmen and huntresses are missing too. Splitting up, the groups make friends with three others, Barry, Victor, and Arthur.

During a fight with the mind-controlled populace, Jessica Cruz reveals herself and manages to get everyone to safety. While discussing their next course of action and learning of Starro's origins, he leads his final attack. Jessica is able to help Team RWBY restrain Team JNPR long enough for the girls to restore their friends. During this time, Bruce and Clark steal a massive container of dust, ramming it into Starro's body, knocking him unconscious long enough for Jessica and Weiss to seal him into a new prison.
