The Statue of God is a major antagonist in the Korean manhwa, light novel, and anime series Solo Leveling, serving as the main antagonist of the D-Rank Dungeon Arc and a supporting antagonist of the Double Dungeon Arc. He is the boss of the Double Dungeon and the greatest creation of the hidden boss of the same dungeon, the Architect. His name and appearance parallels to the Absolute Being.

Appearance[]
Initially seen sitting on his throne alongside the dungeon's other smaller statues, he appears as an immense statue with the appearance of an expressionless emperor or king wearing a crown on his head, surrounded by a compass-like design. When his victims obey the first rule of Cartenon Temple's Commandments, “Worship to God '', a sadistic and horrific wide smile will appear on his face and its eyes will turn red. The rest of the statue wears a robe, but it isn’t wearing any form of footwear. Along with his name, his apperance was modeled after the Absolute Being.

The Statue of God remains motionless alongside the smaller statues in the dungeon as his visitors enters and explore the dungeon. After a certain amount of time passes, the Statue of God shoots his victims with a beam of light without any proper warning. The statue will only stop shooting lasers when his victims remain at a certain height. The statue also shows great pleasure crushing his victims with his feet as he can be seen enlarging his sadistic grin in the anime.
Biography[]
D-Rank Dungeon Arc[]
As Sung Jinwoo and his party members opens the gigantic door of the Double Dungeon, blue flames light on each of the poles and torches on the wall of the gigantic room. The hunters observe each of the statues, commenting that they feel something off about them and holding instruments and weapons. The group soon notices the larger statue in the middle, sitting on his throne. They sumble upon a hooded statue holding instructions written with Runic Text, the Cartenon Temple's Commandments. In the middle of reading the texts, a party member, Lee Joohe informs Jinwoo to tell him that the eyeball of the statue sitting on the throne had just moved, but Jinwoo denies this, stating that she might be wrong. Jinwoo is suddenly disturbed upon his realization about how quiet the place appears to be. As the large door closes, which alerts the group, another one of the members decides to leave. As he approaches the door, ready to open it, Song Chi-Yul yells at the men not to before getting swiftly beheaded by one of the two statues that guards the entrance. With the group’s panicked reaction to see the death of one of their comrades, Jinwoo turns around to make an contact with the statue’s glowing eye staring at him. Seeing the eyes beginning to prepare for an attack, Jinwoo yells at the others to duck barely before the statue fires a beam of attack at the hunters, causing destruction on the floor and killing a few more of the hunters.
Confident in his speed, another member of the group decides to make an attempt to flee with Chi-Yul trying to warn him. Arriving nearly at the entrance, the giant statue fires another beam of light at the quicky hunter, instantly killing him on the spot, only leaving his two feet remaining.
Jinwoo soon remembers about the instructions they read before. Asking Chi-Yul about the first rule of the commandment, he tests the statue’s mecaniques, which immediately causes the statue to turn his head toward the boy, ready to fire another attack. Realizing that his thoughts are right as the statue stops his attack, Jinwoo yells at his allies to bow to the statue. Upon agreeing to do so, this made the statue’s eye to stop glowing and switch his expression to a sadistic smile and his eyes turning red. The group soon notices the change on the statue’s face, initially thinking that they are now safe. The group are soon paralyzed to see that the statue had started to walk on his feet toward them. As the statue causes powerful trembles on the floor, the group still thinks they have to praise.

One of the hunters volunteers himself to do so, deciding to stand in front of the statue who continues to approach. before being crushed to death by its gigantic foot with blood splattered out of it.
The group began to run. Soon, many of the members die one by one at the hand of the smaller statues. Jinwoo then notices how some statues wield weapons, but some with instruments, leading him to instruct his comrades to run near them. Jinwoo leaves Joohe to another statue and attempts to find another one holding an instrument, upon realizing that the statue won’t be activated to play if two people stand nearby. Unfortunately, he accidentally runs toward a statue that holds a shield, causing him to lose one of his legs. But he managed to crawl toward an instrument-holding statue, finally giving him safety.
As the group tries to recover with Joohee struggling to heal Jinwoo, the Statue of God raises his hand to make a pillar emerging out of the altar at the center of the room. Chi-Yul walks to the altar to there with the rest of the hunters joining him, which activates the fire around the circle to light up along with more blue light that activates more fire around. This also activates the door to reopen once again, and activates the smaller statues wielding weapons to walk toward the center. The group leaves one by one with terror with only Jinwoo left.
Crying to survive, Jinwoo grabs the sword that Kim left behind nearby and points it toward one of the statue with determination before getting impaled and being thrown on the altar by a statue wielding a spear.
Double Dungeon Arc[]
Several months later, the Player of the System Sung Jinwoo is back in the dungeon once again after having reached level 100 in the program, he is invited by the Architect there to test his abilities where. The Statue of God and his minions are ordered by his creator to attack Jinwoo for a test that can prove whether he is the perfect vessel for the Shadow Monarch Ashborn. Unlike before, Jinwoo easily overpowers the statue with his immense strength as he unleashes powerful blows in his face.
Solo Leveling: Side Stories[]
In an alternative timeline, the Statue of God and the other statues are confronted by Antares, the Dragon Monarch himself possessing the body of Jinwoo. As the possessed hunter swiftly took down all the statues and caused rampage across the dungeon, Ashborn decided to possess the body of the Statue of God and clash with Antares.
Abilities and Powers[]
- Destructive Light Beams: Taking his victims by surprise as he moves his eyeballs to prepare an attack, the Statue of God's light beam easily incinerates humans from nothing into ashes as well as easily damaging the floor of it's dungeon. The light beam is so fast that not even D-Rank hunters is capable of dodging it, as shown when one of Jinwoo's comrades attempted to escape the place but failed despite his impressive speed as hunter.
- Marksmanship: Additionally, the statue's shot of light beam are also very accurate considering he was able to instantly hit a hunter trying to escape at great speed from far away.
- Immense Durability: Easily crumbling the floor, when the statue faced a reawakened Jinwoo, he was able to withstand several of the hunter's punches.

- First, Worship the Lord - All individuals must bow in front of the statue. If not obeyed, the statue will send a beam of light toward anyone who is above a certain limit of height.
- Second, Praise the Lord - Upon praying, the Statue of God's expression will change. Now showing a psychopathic smile as he walks toward his victims. Any survivors who still thinks of bowing or praising to the "lord" will get crushed by the Statue of God's foot. Survivors must run nearby the smaller statues that holds instruments as the statue chases anyone who does not do it. If anyone goes nearby those with weapons will be immediately slaughtered.
- Third, Prove your faith - When all survivors are near the statues with instruments, the Statue of God will stop and raise his hand to summon the altar to at the center of the room. All individuals must now go to the center, thus activating the door to be reopened. One of the survivors must make a sacrifice as the others leaves the dungeon as the smaller statues wielding weapons walks toward the center. When approached enough, one of the statue will stab its victim and put it on the altar, resulting the person in becoming the host or "Player" of the magical program, the "System".

- It is possible that the smile of the Statue's design is inspired by the Smiling Titan from the anime and manga series Attack on Titan due to the uncanny resemblance between the smile's of the two giants, as well as showing similar reactions of the protagonists of their respective series.
