Steam Punk was the steam train-themed Machine Beast of the Machine Empire Baranoia serving Prince Buldont and a major antagonist in Chouriki Sentai Ohranger: The Movie.
He was voiced by the late Hideyuki Umezu who also voiced NN Nerenko in Gekisou Sentai Carranger, Karaoke Org in Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger, and Sanyo in Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger.
Biography[]
Shortly after the death of Bara Missiler, Prince Buldont decides to kill the Ohrangers overly theatrically. As such, he sets up a movie called the Machine Empire Century with Acha and Kocha and some Barlo Soldiers before recruiting four Machine Beasts to act as the muscle in his plan; Faucetchuck, Locker Knight, Cat Signal and Kabochumpkin. When the climax of the movie fails as the Ohrangers survive an ambush by Barlo Soldiers and save humans from having thier limbs cut off, the Machine Beasts ambush them and survive the Big Bang Buster finisher before merging into Steam Punk who Acha and Kocha then enlarge. Apparently desiring some friends, Steam Punk absorbs the child hostages and runs away so the Ohrangers form Ohranger Robo. Although he initially overwhelms it, Ohranger Robo is able to hold him in place long enough for Goro to rescue the hostages so a desperate Steam Punk turns into a train and tries to obliterate Ohranger Robo. However, it is unfazed so the scared Machine Beast shrinks back down to human size and tries to make his escape across a bridge only for the Crown Final Crash to cut one of the bridge supports. Now unstable, the bridge collapses under Steam Punk's weight and the Machine Beast plummets to his death.
Personality[]
Steam Punk was a quiet and softly spoken but enthusiastic Machine Beast loyal to Prince Buldont who was willing to take children hostage to try and save himself. He was also shown to be cowardly, trying to flee when Ohranger Robo was unfazed by his energy blasts which led to his death.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Steam Punk was able to knock around Ohranger Robo with single swipes from his bare hands.
- Headbutt: Steam Punk was able to knock back Ohranger Robo with a powerful head-butt.
- Depth Perception: Steam Punk had depth perception despite only having one eye.
- Speech: Steam Punk could could speak despite lacking a mouth.
- Absorption: Steam Punk could kidnap people into his body by sucking them into his eye with blue energy.
- Storage Chamber: Steam Punk had a large train carriage-like dimension within himself to contain his enemies.
- Eye Blasts: Steam Punk could spray powerful blue energy from his single eye capable of causing large explosions and knocking down the Ohrangers but was completely ineffective against Ohranger Robo.
- Train Transformation: Steam Punk was able to transform into a more train-like form for a quicker escape.
- Shrinkage: Steam Punk could return to human size at will by enveloping himself in blue energy and making the energy compress.
