The Steambot is the boiler-themed monster of the Machine Empire serving Prince Sprocket and a very minor antagonist in the Power Rangers Zeo episode "Invasion of the Ranger Snatchers."

Who voiced him is unknown.

Biography

Unlike many other monsters, the Steambot was originally a lifeless monster suit designed for a monster B-movie dubbed "Invasion Of Blueface" which is based loosely on the Zeo Rangers' fight against the Machine Empire. Inspired by the movie, Prince Sprocket decides to shoot his own movie but use it to destroy the Zeo Rangers and render the Earth defenceless. Instead of using pre-built monsters of the Machine Empire though, since Sprocket thinks that using any other monsters will make his movie less impressive, he decides to steal the monster suits from the movie set.

The Cogs succeed, taking the Steambot suit along with three others and luring the Zeo Rangers into a massive Cog battle where they are captured by the Video Vulture. Whilst the Rangers are trapped, the suits are animated as sentient monsters for use in the Prince's film. Later, after the Zeo Rangers escape from Sprocket's movie by saving people from a doomed bus, Sprocket sends all four monsters to confront the Rangers to create a new climax for his movie. They easily overwhelm the heroes; the Steambot raining lightning down on them before blasting them down with his allies and merging with the others to form Bucket of Bolts. However, although the monster is formidable, Bucket of Bolts is swiftly destroyed by the Zeo Megazord and takes the Leaky Faucet down with him.

After Sprocket complains about Punch-A-Bunch damaging himself during battle against the Zeo Rangers, the Steambot is indirectly referenced along with all previous monsters used up to that point when Queen Machina reassures her distraught son that the Rangers have ruined all of their monsters.

Personality

Due to his very limited screen-time, and the fact he only spoke in a laugh, the Steambot's personality is largely unknown but he was shown to be loyal to Sprocket and willing to kill the Zeo Rangers.

Powers and Abilities

• Sight: The Steambot could see despite lacking eyes.
• Speech: The Steambot could laugh despite lacking a mouth.
• Fusion: The Steambot was able to fuse with the other three monsters to form Bucket of Bolts.

Arsenal

• Staff: The Steambot wielded a long white staff in combat.
  • Lightning Rain: The Steambot could thrust his staff into the air to rain down blue lightning from the tip which was strong enough to wipe out all five Zeo Rangers.
  • Lightning Blasts: The Steambot could also fire straight blue lightning that, when combined with the other monsters' blasts, completely defeated the Zeo Rangers.

Trivia

• In Ohranger, the Steambot was far stronger and had more screen-time; even fighting all five Zeo Rangers on horseback at one point.
  • This was cut for time but his fight scene was how the Zeo Rangers got thier horses to rescue the bus in Ohranger.
