Sterling Frost Jr. is a supporting antagonist in the 2022 television series, Poker Face.
He is the manager of Frost Casino in Nevada, which was given to him by his father Sterling Frost Senior.
He was portrayed by Adrien Brody. He has also played Flavio Volpe in Giallo, Dmitri Desgoffe-und-Taxis in The Grand Budapest Hotel and Luca Changretta in Peaky Blinders and Leveque in Ghosted.
Biography[]
Sterling Frost Jr. is a man-child manager of Frost Casino, a position given to him by his father, who he fears deeply. Sterling is a cheater and willing to avoid morals for the sake of success in his casino.
One housekeeper named Natalie Hill, is doing a routine cleaning of the presidential suite in the hotel, currently housing high roller Kazimir Caine. Natalie is shocked to find illegal images on Caine's laptop which has been left wide open. Natalie takes pictures of the laptop from her phone and slips out of the room before anyone notices. She confronts her boss, Frost Junior about the images. Not willing to give up a high roller at the casino, Frost assures Natalie something will be done to take care of the situation. However, Frost deletes the incriminating photos off of Natalie's phone without her knowing, and sends her home. Frost decides to have his right-hand Cliff LeGrand, kill both her and her abusive husband Jerry, to make it look like a murder-suicide, all in order to protect Caine, who means a great deal to the casino.
A day later, Frost enlists the help of cocktail waitress and close friend of Natalie's Charlie Cale to cheat a private poker game that Kazimir Caine is hosting in his suite. Frost tests Charlie's ability to tell when people are lying, believing it can help him use a spy to cheat and steal money from Caine. Despite Frost's protests, Charlie continues to investigate Natalie's death, refusing to accept the murder-suicide ruling. After putting her abilities to the test, Sterling has Charlie help him set up cameras in the suite to cheat the poker game, where Charlie reveals she has found the images of Caine's laptop and believes that is what got Natalie killed. Frost, fearing that his operation will be put into jeopardy of Charlie's investigation, insists that is true, but to "hit 'em where it hurts" and go along with the cheating plan to really get back at Caine for killing her friend. However, as Charlie finds out, Sterling actually had Cliff LeGrand kill both Natalie and Jerry to protect his high roller and his scam against Caine. Charlie decides to hit Sterling where it hurts, and tips Caine off about the plan Sterling has set up. Sterling realizes what Charlie has done, and he and Cliff run up to the presidential suite to search for Caine, learning that he has left and exposed Frost Casino for playing dirty. A distressed Sterling gets a call from his father, scaring him greatly and realizes he won't be able to face his father who is sure to be enraged with him. As Cliff laughs at him, Sterling walks to the balcony of the suite and jumps off to his death, killing himself.
Personality[]
Sterling is a foolish and ignorant man child, who is deeply afraid of his father and weary about what he does, fearing the wrath of Sterling Frost Senior. He is also shown to be a cheater and is incredibly greedy. He is also not afraid to look away from morally wrong actions in order to benefit himself.
