Steven Sawyer is the main antagonist of the Chicago P.D. episode “The Forgotten”. He is a serial killer and rapist who tortures women before stabbing them to death.

Steven Sawyer was a commercial realtor who had a divorce and met women in prostitution clubs. His first victim was Shanele Martin, who he kidnapped, took to an abandoned place, held her captive in a basement for a whole day, and raped, tortured, and took photos of her before stabbing her to death 18 times. He then killed 7 more women in this same method, taking their clothes as trophies and burying them under the buildings. He moved to Pittsburg for 3 years, so he stopped his killing. Meanwhile, Brian Kelton closed the case while it was still ongoing as it would have been detrimental to his career. In 2019, he returned to Chicago and went to Keith Stinson's club and solicited Lexie Wright for services, but she declined.

After kidnapping Lexi with a blue van, he brought her to his abanonded building. There a Power Company Worker named Roy Callison stumbled upon the basement, so Sawyer shot him in the head. He then abandoned his van, took Lexie with him, and walked through the subway, where a security camera recorded him, thus revealing his identity. Using his car, he went to a building with a secret compartment in the floor, which he presumably knew during his job as a realtor; she later died from the torture. After leaving a building, Hailey is asked about the address, and she directs him to where it is. At a building, Hank Voight finds him and demands to know where Lexie is. Unfortunately, detective Donahue, who was waiting, shot Steven under the orders of Kelton, Voight scrambled to ask where Lexie is, but Sawyer simply laughs before dying from blood loss. Sadly, at the time the department found her, she was already dead. While Lexie is dead, the identity of Steven is found and so are the victims, so Voight tells the families so they can get closure.
