Sting Oakley one of the three Extended pilots of the Earth Alliance’s special forces team in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.
He was voiced Junichi Suwabe in Japanese. In the English version, he was initially voiced by Brent Miller, but was later replaced by Xander Mobus for the HD re-release.
Personality[]
He is the calmest of the three and acts as the leader of them. Unlike Stella Loussier and Auel Neider, he has no known block word, although it is later revealed by the show's director Fukuda to be "Dream".
History[]
Incident at Armory One[]
He sneaks with his comrades into the PLANT colony Armory One, where they steal three new Gundam-type mobile suits, with Sting taking the ZGMF-X24S Chaos Gundam.
Operation Break the World=[]
After the Armory One raid, he is involved in two other battles in space (the first in the debris belt, the second on the remnants of the destroyed PLANT colony Junius 7).
Second Alliance-PLANT War[]
After the Second Bloody Valentine War was declared, Sting and the rest of the Phantom Pain go to Earth. There, they are again involved in several battles against the ZAFT ship Minerva. However, they have no great success. During this time, Sting often fights against Athrun Zala in the ZGMF-X23S Saviour Gundam. Sting and his two comrades later investigate the ZAFT-controlled city Diokia where the three for the first time meet Shinn Asuka and Athrun Zala; however, none of them knew who the other is.
Battle of Crete[]
During the Battle of Crete, the Chaos is damaged by Kira Yamato’s ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam and later quickly repaired for the next battles.
Battle of Berlin[]
Sting would later accompany the GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundam piloted by Stella, which destroys several cities in Europe. Sting later fights against three MVF-M11C Murasame units from the Archangel and is defeated when the Chaos is cut in half by one of them. Sting somehow managed to survive the destruction of his machine.
Operation Ragnorok - Battle of Heaven's Base[]
After surviving the Battle of Berlin, Sting later becomes the pilot of one of the five Destroy units stationed there and was sent out to defend Heaven's Base when ZAFT's Operation Ragnarok began. There he engages Shinn Asuka in his ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam, Lunamaria Hawke in her ZGMF-56S Impulse Gundam, and Rey Za Burrel in his ZGMF-X666 Legend Gundam.
Demise[]
He is eventually killed by Shinn, who impales Arondight anti-ship sword into the cockpit of the Destroy.
