Stingray is the secondary antagonist of the DC Extended Universe 2023 superhero film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
She is a pirate who joined the Manta Men, aiding Black Manta in his revenge against Aquaman by releasing Kordax.
She is portrayed by Jani Zhao.
Biography[]
Stingray joined the Manta Men in 2022, working for David Kane/Black Manta and scientific explorer Dr. Stephen Shin as they try to rebuild his Black Manta suit. While exploring the icy rivers of Atlantis, Kane and his men fall through a hole in a cave where they find the Black Trident, which Kane uses to communicate with Kordax who promises him revenge on Aquaman in exchange for his freedom.
Months later, Stingray assisted the Manta Men in stealing a rare substance Orichalcum to break into Necrus, the lost kingdom of Atlantis. When Aquaman and the reformed Orm Marius/Ocean Master break into Necrus to recover the Orichalcum, Stingray leads the Manta Men in breaking through the doors to attack them, interrupting Stephen Shin's attempt to negotiate a truce with the brothers. She later pilots a giant robot octopus to attack them. She pins Orm down and is prepared to finish him off, but Aquaman ties up the robot tentacles using the Orichalcum and topples it over. Orm opens the cockpit and is about to kill Stingray, but Black Manta saves her using his newly acquired powers from Kordax.
After escaping with her boss, Stingray leads the Manta Men's ship as they attack the Atlantians that came to Aquamana and Orm's rescue. However, Aquaman uses Atlan's trident to summon whales into destroying the ship, killing Stingray.
