~ Po contemplating the damages Stingray is causing to the pig village. |
Stingray is a minor antagonist in DreamWorks' 46th full-length animated film Kung Fu Panda 4, the fourth installment of the Kung Fu Panda franchise.
He is a stingray kidnapper who attacks a lake village populated by pigs, kindapping three little pigs from a mother. This leads Po, the Dragon Warrior from the Valley of Peace, to come to their rescue by facing Stingray.
History[]
Stingray first appears sometime after "Tai Lung"'s attack in the mountains, attacking a sea village populated by pigs. After kidnapping three little pigs and trapping them inside his mouth, Stingray faces the arriving Po, the Dragon Warrior from the Valley of Peace, who is there to rescue his hostages. Stingray lunges at Po as he gets to the village's docks, but Po kicks him. Angered at this, Stingray destroys part of the docks to knock Po into the water, but Po avoids falling into the water, prompting Stingray to fly away and counterattack until Po stands in a single pole.
Despite the odds against him, Po persists and catapults himself into the air, where he engages in a close quarters combat against Stingray, ultimately grabbing from his tail and using it to gag him before loudly landing on the dock. There, Po jumps on Stingray and makes him spit the three little pigs he had swallowed, returning them to their mother, leading all the villagers to celebrate and Po to tell Stingray to next time keep himself out of the village. It can be presumed that Stingray was imprisoned or forced to leave the village for good afterwards.
Trivia[]
- The Stingray is the third antagonist in the Kung Fu Panda franchise to be an aquatic creature, after Mugan and Kira Kozu.
