The Storm King is a major antagonist and one of the archdemons in Demon's Souls, as well as its 2020 remake of the same name.
Appearance[]
The Storm King is a giant demon resembling a stingray with blue fins and a long-spiked tail. His face consists of elongated tentacles surrounding a large eyeball. In the PlayStation 5 remake, the Storm King has spikes going down his spine and his wings have finger-like flaps at the end of them.
Biography[]
The Storm King is the god of the Shadowmen located at the Shrine of Storms, where they conducted rituals over hundreds of years to offer heroes to the god of storms. First, they will be judged by the Adjudicator, then pass judgement upon an altar during a storm and be purified. Once they were ready, the Storm King would appear at the altar to consume the hero.
When the Colorless Fog came across the kingdom of Boletaria, a manifestation of the Storm King came to be. Accompanied by smaller flying stingrays called the Storm Beasts, the Storm King decimated the shrine, showing sadistic pleasure as he watched all in peril.
When the Slayer of Demons came to the altar to put an end to the permanent storm, the Storm King sends his Storm Beasts to dispose of them. The first phase of the battle is against a dozen of Storm Beasts, all flying about while shooting spears at the player. The entire battle is ranged, making it easy for those equipped with magic or a bow and arrow. For melee users, the Stormruler sword can be found at the bottom of the altar, capable of releasing powerful slices through the air to kill the Storm Beasts in one hit.
Once enough of the Storm Beasts are slain, the Storm King flies from the background above the arena, shooting multiple spears that home in on the player. They can dodge by either running or hiding behind rubble. Using the Stormruler greatly damages the Storm King. Once he goes down, he drops the Storm Demon's Soul.

- The Stormruler would later be used for the boss battle against Yhorm the Giant in Dark Souls III.
- The Storm King's soul, the Storm Demon's Soul, can be consumed for 48,000 souls, use to ascend a Short Sword+8 into the Morion Blade with Blacksmith Ed, or traded to Saint Urbain to obtain the Anti-Magic Field miracle.
