Storm Shadow is one of the main antagonist in the 2009 animated miniseries G.I. Joe Resolute and a minor antagonist in the comic with the same name, In here, storm shadow is a character way more evil than his previous incarnations, This due to a hatred he has towards snake eyes, Making him due questionable things to ruin his life and reputation.
In the miniseries, He was voiced by Eric Bauza who also voiced Albedo (Ben 10) In Ben 10: Omniverse, both Marvin the Martian and Daffy Duck In the Lonney Tunes show, Tiger Claw In the 2012 animated TMNT show, Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse In multiversus, Jack Spicer In Xiaolin Chronicles, Ezekiel Stane (Marvel Anime) In Iron Man Rise of the Technovare and more.
Miniseries[]
Backstory[]
Thomas was one of the many kids who grew up and joined in the arashikage ninja school, where he was trained by his uncle Hard Master, Since he was just a kid, he showed great skills in martial arts and was better than almost anyone in the school, except for snake eyes who was his rival, Due to this, Thomas later asked his uncle to teach him the seventh step of sun but his uncle eventually was disgusted by it decided to decline the offer which make thomas angry and sad, After this, He saw how his uncle and snake eyes were more close to each other, Something that make him grow with hatred and jealousy over Snake Eyes.
After this event, When he was just a teenager, Thomas leave the arashikage ninja school joining COBRA in the process, Where later, It was revealed that Hard Master (The Uncle of Thomas) was killed by a sniper that belonged to COBRA, Which make Snake Eyes question who was the responsible.
COBRA[]
Thomas eventually became a strong member of COBRA, due to this, He was given respect and higher range, Them, thomas changed his alias and he was now known as ¨Storm Shadow¨. After this, Storm Shadow joined Destro and other COBRA members in multiple missions where they killed people or destroyed multiple personal facilities, This under the orders of Cobra Commander who wanted to slowly take control over the world, Then, Storm Shadow discovered that Snake Eyes now worked for the G.I. Joe which eventually revived their rivarly.
In a mission tasked by him, He went alone in a mission to steal and destroy the U.S.S flag, Which ended up being a success after he defeated some of the Joes that were vigilating the place, He then encountered Bazooka and brutally killed him. After this victory Storm Shadow also ended up sending a message towards Snake Eyes with the Arashikage symbol saying that ¨All games ended today¨.
Final Battle and Death[]
In the night, Snake Eyes ended up finding Storm Shadow´s place, Where they were supposed to have their final battle, At the beginning, Snake Eyes had to defeat and kill multiple COBRA soldiers that tried to stop him from getting close to storm shadow, Later, Snake Eyes finally founded storm shadow, And he started to reveal his plan to Snake Eyes, saying that after this, He Is gonna be blamed as the true killer of Hard Master And storm shadow also says that he killed hard master because he liked and choosed snake eyes instead of him, Which eventually make him turn into a monster.
After saying this, Both Storm and Snake ended up having a sword duel, Where they seem to be very equalized, Until snake eyes manages to slash both of storm shadow´s wrist, But then the wound is healed revealing that storm shadow has trained his body before the fight and also giving the possibility that he has a healing factor, Later, Storm Shadow used the sixth step to send snake eyes towards a giant concrete building, Destroying part of the walls.
Storm Shadow thought that he won the fight, But then, Snake Eyes appears to be still alive, An angry storm shadow tries to attack him but Snake ends up surprising Thomas by using the seventh steps of sun (A secret technique of Hard Master), something that eventually destroyed Storm Shadow, Both physically and mentally, And with one final blow, Snake eyes finally killed storm shadow, ending the fight.
Snake Eyes later makes a hole in the floor and buries storm shadow´s body, Showing that he still had respect for him, Then, Snake eyes leaves the island as the victor, And in the end, It is implied that storm shadow´s fate was left as mysterious, since when other joes came to take his body, The tombstone was totally empty.

In here, Storm Shadow´s story is very unknown, The only thing that is known for sure is that he was trained in a ninja school alongside snake eyes and that they got into a rivarly where the two started to compete to see which was the better ninja among the two. In some point of his life, Storm Shadow joined COBRA, Where he worked as their spy.
In a mission, Storm Shadow was sent to invade the place where the U.S.S flag was hidden, But when he was about to stole it, Tunnel Rat discovered and faced him, Where after a fight, Storm Shadow managed to defeat him, Revealing that he was a great warrior but his skills were simply inferior in comparison to him, And after this, He escaped the scene.
Differences between the Comic and Miniseries[]
Origins[]
Meanwhile both of them were born and trained in a ninja school, In the miniseries it is left known that the school where thomas attended was named ¨Arashikage¨, where his uncle (hard master) worked as the teacher. In the comics it is left ambiguous if hard master was the teacher or if he even got hatred upon him or snake eyes.
Personality[]
Meanwhile the storm shadow from the miniseries is a ruthless, unestable, jealous, brutal and obsessed individual, The storm shadow from the comics is strategic, charismatic, serious, precise and lethal, And even thought In the comics storm shadow is also very rude and brutal, He manages to control that emotion, Unlike his miniseries counterpart.
Appearance[]
This is a minor one, Since both have almost the same outfit (Including the hood and white ninja costume), But in the comics, Storm shadow has red and black gloves, more hidden weapons in his outfit and a different eye color, Meanwhile storm shadow in the miniseries only have some bandages in his arms that cover a mark that he has on his wrist and also, his costume is completely white with no other colors.
Mindset[]
It is shown that storm shadow is more than focused on revenge and envy, Specially when doing other missions, Where he inevitally thinks about snake eyes making him anger, He also believes that he is the strongest and deadliest ninja in the world, Claiming that his only opponent was Snake Eyes.
In some point, It can be remark that he once loved his uncle, And thought that he would be the new leader of the arashikage clan someday, But he was quickly angry when he learned that he doesn´t want to teach him the seventh step, Which was the only missing thing that storm shadow have in his skillset, Due to this, His anger and unestability won him over, and he ended up ordering the death of his uncle.

Trivia[]
- This is considered the most evil and brutal version of Storm Shadow in G.I. Joe by both fans and the creators.
- In the comics, It is left unknown if Storm Shadow killed his uncle or not, So for that reason, He didn´t commit the crime of killing another family member, Unlike his miniseries version.
- Even thought Storm Shadow is very cold and calculative in the resolute comics, He is still a lot more honorable and mentally sane than his Miniseries counterpart.
