Orange is the New Black[]
Stratman is hired as part of an initiative to increase the amount of guards at Litchfield Penitentiary. He, and many other army veterans, are hired to prepare for a large increase of inmate population. Stratman quickly develops a bond between the other male guards who spend their spare time drinking and objectifying female inmates and staff.
He begins to sexually assault female inmates when stop and searches are implemented across the South American population. When Blanca Flores tries to evade being searched by making her smell physically repulsive, Stratman tries to force her to shower but refuses. As punishment, Stratman forces Flores to stand on a table in the canteen until she falls asleep so they can carry her to a shower. Instead, Flores stands guard, making a stalemate between Stratman and Flores.
After a peaceful protest breaks out in support of Flores and against the maltreatment of the staff, Stratman participates in trying to subdue the inmates which results in the death of inmate Poussey Washington. When this is learned of by the inmates, they stage a riot and keep CO Stratman and his colleagues hostage.
Stratman participates in a forced talent show where he gives Leanne Taylor a lap dance. Stratman later escapes being held hostage, and is found by Leanne and Angie Rice. They force Stratman to finger Leanne for his silence. He later escapes the prison. Stratman is relocated to the maximum security branch where he participates in a twisted game of 'Fantasy Inmate' (where the guards win points for hostile interactions between selected inmates).
Stratman is shown to have learned nothing from the riot and continues to objectify and abuse female inmates whilst disregarding his female colleagues.
