Strider Araña hails from the Strider manga as one of two members of Matic’s personal unit who appear in chapter 4. He also appears in the NES Game as a common enemy encountered in Africa and Australia.
Personality
Araña seems cocky about his strategies, being confident in them and ignoring the warnings of his comrade Kubira. He is also known to keep several tarantulas as his pets and is attached enough to them that he asks Hiryu to release them on his deathbed.
Powers and Abilities
Cunning and skilled, Araña has a preference for setting trapping and ambushing his foes direct confrontations. His filaments, comparable to spider webs, are sharp to the point that it got a bird bisected when it flew into one of them. Araña is also capable of using it to ensnare foes without leaving a cut in them.
Araña can also use it to set up traps in open areas to form “trap zones” with them in the form of wire cages for unsuspecting victims. The filaments are so thin, they are almost invisible to the naked eye and will be deadly if they are not spotted in time.
Trivia
- Araña's name was intended to be styled in the Spanish name for Spider.
