Subject 67 is the main protagonist of the Examtaker bonus chapter in Helltaker. Upon awakening, he expresses a strong desire to get revenge against Loremaster for turning him into a monster.

Appearance

Subject 67 is huge and muscular with a skull head and bandages around his arms. He dons a pair of white pants, and eventually wears the signature Hell uniform.

Biography

Sometime after the events of the main game, a human had been taken by Loremaster who fused the human with a demon in an effort to create an artificial demon.

She started to call him Subject 66 and considered him the most likely one to succeed before her maid Lucifer informed her that 66 had already died and that this was Subject 67.

Regardless of his name, Subject 67 angrily declared that he would find Loremaster and kill her.

Upon making it to Loremaster's last test, she offers him anything he wants such as apple pies. In response, Subject 67 tells her that he plans to take everything away from her starting with her maid. Loremaster tells him that Lucifer is off limits as she activates a giant robot.

When 67 destroys the robot, Loremaster declares the experiment a success and has Justice make some apple pie which quells Subject 67 enough to keep him from attempting to make good on his earlier threats.

However, he still shows to have great hatred toward Loremaster afterward and still wants her dead. Seeing this, Lucifer offers him an opportunity to team up with her at some point to take down Loremaster and help her reclaim her throne due to how little Loremaster actually knows about him.

Trivia

• It is currently unknown whether Subject 67 is the Helltaker or a completely different person. While 67 is noted as being extremely violent and threatening in contrast to the Helltaker, there are bits of dialogue that still hint at the possibility such as Lucifer telling 67 how much he reminds her of Helltaker.
• He is the 66th subject in Azazel's sixth experiment group, a referense to the Number of the Beast.
