Biography[]
One of the members of Teresa Lisbon's team, Wayne Rigsby, attends the fights. During the competition, a woman's body is found. Wayne immediately calls his colleagues. An investigation begins. The murdered woman's name is Charlotte Mitchell. She is a journalist and she was writing a book about the fight club where her body was found. Teresa Lisbon and the team's independent consultant, Patrick Jane, interrogate the father of the murdered woman. However, during the interrogation, he has a stroke and Teresa calls an ambulance. Charlotte's father is taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, Patrick takes the murdered woman's notes for further study. Meanwhile, it turns out that the gun that killed Charlotte was stolen from a club called "Narcissus". Meanwhile, Patrick goes to the fight club to talk to the coaches and fighters again about the murder. There he shows a cipher from one of the murdered woman's notebooks. Patrick claims that this cipher contains the information that Charlotte wanted to reveal (and, according to Patrick, it was this information that caused her murder). Patrick claims that Charlotte's father knows how to decipher this code and the CBI is waiting for him to wake up and be able to talk to him so they can decipher this code. In fact, Patrick himself wrote those symbols in Charlotte's notebook to let the killer know that Charlotte's father could expose him. According to Patrick's calculations, the killer will attempt on Charlotte's father's life and thus give himself away. And so it happens. While trying to kill Charlotte's father, the CBI detains one of the trainers, Suge Hima. The thing is, one of the fighters, Manny Flaco, was seriously ill (which no one, including Manny Flaco himself, knew about). But Suge Hima and the club's promoter Len Artash were getting huge amounts of money from his winnings (and he was a promising fighter). Charlotte found out about this and wanted to expose it. This would have caused a serious scandal that could have cost Manny his career and his trainer and promoter their earnings. So the trainer and promoter killed her. Len Artash was the owner of the very club where the gun that later became the weapon used to kill Charlotte disappeared. Patrick realized this when he learned that Len's mother's name was Nargiz (which sounds similar to the name of that very club, "Narcissus"). Len Artash and Suge Hima were arrested.
