So you've been coming home late. That's what I've heard. I make a good playmate, you know.
~ Sugimura to his fiancée
Haru! Be a good girl! Come be my toy!
~ Sugimura's cognitive version to Haru.

Sugimura is a minor antagonist and member of the Antisocial Force in Persona 5, serving as the secondary antagonist of its fifth main story arc "Space Station of Greed." Due to the political influence of his own parents, he was set by Kunikazu Okumura into an arranged marriage with his daughter, Haru Okumura.

He is voiced by Hisayoshi Suganuma in Japanese and Phillip Reich in English.

Appearance[]

Sugimura is a young man has well-combed brown hair and brown eyes. He wears a white business shirt over a violet one with a black tie.

Personality[]

Sugimura is a violent and arrogant playboy who abuses his aristocratic power. He is very abusive and controlling towards his fiancée, becoming aggravated when she doesn't answer his calls and accuses her of cheating. He has no qualms about hurting someone who gets in his way, shown when he kicks Morgana. He is also shown to be a sore loser who cowers away from fights and uses his political power to beat anyone who insults him.

History[]

Sugimura's primary appearance is during the Okumura Palace arc. Here he roughly confronts his fiancé Haru, kicking Morgana to the side who tries to defend her. However, he quickly leaves as the other Phantom Thieves arrive. Sugimura also appears during the broadcast where the Phantom Thieves' leader apparently commits suicide, showing gratitude he's dead.

The Player can optionally run into Sugimura as part of Haru's confidant. Here he made arrangements with Okumura to create a contract ensuring his and Haru's wedding. However, Okumura's successor reveals this was the first he had heard of it and would work to get the contract voided.
