Sultan Murad IV is the main protagonist in the Turkish television series Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem. He is the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1623 to 1640. Born in 1612, Murad was the son of Sultan Ahmed I and Kösem Sultan. He was a powerful and ruthless ruler who was determined to strengthen the Ottoman Empire and expand its territories. He was known for his strict enforcement of Islamic law and his brutal suppression of internal dissent. He ordered a massacre of Janissaries, abolished the drinking of alcohol, and executed anyone who broke the law. He also waged successful wars against the Safavid dynasty of Persia. He was a brilliant military strategist. Despite his harshness, Murad was respected by his people, and his legacy remains an important part of Ottoman history.

He is also cruel and harsh to lawbreakers.
