~ Superman's disillusion with humanity.
Kal-El, also known as Superman, is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Zeta-Rho) of Season 1 of the TV series Superman & Lois and a supporting antagonist in the comic book miniseries Earth-Prime.
Originally an otherworldly hero that vowed to protect Earth and help humanity change while leading by example in spite of his troubled childhood, he eventually grew disillusioned with humans and decided to help his brother bring Krypton back on Earth. He was the reason John Henry Irons escaped to another Earth were he clashed with a more heroic Superman.
Similarly to other versions of Superman, Kal-El was sent to Earth after the destruction of planet Krypton. Originally adopted by loving parents, he was later put on a foster home following the death of said parents during a 4th of July. Kal was bullied and mistreated in the foster home, running away from there after killing his foster father for beating his foster mother.
He was eventually found by the U.S. government and taken to a secret facility where he was experimented on before escaping to the Amazonand finding the spaceship that brought him to Earth. Using the sunstone crystal, Kal created a fortress and started to train with the A.I. of his late Kryptonian father, Jor-El, deciding to become a vigilante to save humanity from themselves.
Kal named himself Superman and spent the next twenty years protecting Earth from any type of threat, winning the population's support but feeling disappointed by how the worst in humanity still persisted.
In this dissilusioned state Kal-El was met with his brother, Tal-Rho, who promised him that they could cure Earth of its evilness by resurrecting Krypton through them.
Personality[]
Due to witnessing the worst of humanity during his early years, Kal wanted to purge this evilness from them by becoming Superman and hoping they would change their ways as he led by example. Unfortunately, after he realized nothing had really changed in the world, he accepted Tal-Rho's quicker solution and tried to end humanity to make way for the return of all Kryptonians.
