In one fluid movement, it plunged those teeth into my brother’s neck and tore out a great chunk of flesh. Blood started to spurt from Nigel’s spasming body, as Sylvia McDonald’s throat began to twitch. Its jaw detached and a long tubular tongue about the thickness of my forearm snaked out of its throat and clamped onto the gushing wound. There was an awful slurping sound, the first noise I’d ever really heard the creature make, as the tongue sucked the blood from my brother’s throat.
~ Trevor Herbert describing Sylvia McDonald murdering his brother.

Sylvia McDonald is a minor antagonist of the Rusty Quill horror podcast The Magnus Archives, serving as the main antagonist of Mag 10: Vampire Killer. She was a predatory creature that preyed on human blood, called a vampire by Trevor Herbert. Disguised as a human, she lived in Manchester in the 1950s, luring people into her home and eating them. She was eventually killed by two brother's she tried to take as victims.

Appearance[]

Sylvia McDonald took the form of an older who wore a black dress. She apparently had a strange manner about her, which was a sign she was a vampire. She had a dozen thick, pointed teeth, and a long, tubular tongue.

Personality[]

Sylvia McDonald seemed more of an animal than a person. She acted almost completely on instinct, and her only motive was to sate her hunger, feeling no remorse or attachment to anything. That being said, she had a sort of intelligence and was manipulative enough to deceive and plot.

Biography[]

Sylvia McDonald lived in a small house on Loom Street and Manchester and was most likely luring people in and eating them for some time before she was killed. One day in October, she met two homeless boys named Trevor and Nigel Herbert and, using hypnosis, convinced them to stay in her home, offering food and shelter. The boys agreed, and she brought them to her house, offering them a bowl of old fruit. She had them sleep in different rooms and, in the middle of the night, entered Nigel's room, grabbing him and sucking the blood out of him completely. As she did so, Trevor came out from where he was hiding under the table and stabbed her, before lighting her on fire with a still lit candle, killing her.

Powers and Abilities[]

As a vampire, Sylvia McDonald could not speak, instead communicating through hypnosis, which her human prey did not notice. She seemed supernaturally strong, being able to pick up a teenage boy with one hand and had the ability to use her tongue to suck all the blood out of a person.

Trivia[]

  • Sylvia McDonald was the first villain in The Magnus Archives to be killed, although she was soon followed by Robert Arden.
