Virgil, better known as the TFC Sniper, is one of the nine playable characters in Team Fortress Classic and an antagonist in Team Fortress 2, specifically taking the role of a minor antagonist in comic #6 The Naked and the Dead.
Personality[]
Virgil is described by the TF2 Sniper as a sadist, as he takes great pleasure in the suffering of his targets. He seemingly has no remorse for his actions.
Biography[]
Like his other mercenary companions, he and the rest of the classic team are briefly shown in the Catch-Up Comic in the 1930s, showing them to be one of the mercenary teams that were hired by Redmond and Blutarch Mann to fight their endless war with each other. At some point for reasons unknown he let his close friend Fred remove his eyes and replace them with artificial ones that can see through anything.

The Naked and the Dead[]
The TFC Sniper was first seen about to shoot the Modern Heavy, when he heard a knock on the door by the Spy disguised as the TFC Engineer saying that the TFC Heavy wanted him out of the snipers nest, only for him to shoot Spy in the leg.
As he speaks to Spy and gives him a cigarette, intending to prolong Spy's suffering and demise, he gets held at gun point. He tries to talk Sniper out of it, only for him to shoot him dead with a headshot. Afterwards, when Spy expressed how he hated snipers, Sniper professed that the TFC Sniper was simply a sadist- a true assassin would've immediately shot to kill.
