The TRF Drones are minor antagonists in Transformers: The Last Knight. They are a fleet of mini drones controlled and operated by the TRF that were bent on killing Cade Yeager.

Biography[]

After the TRF's convoy have been halted by the reinforcements of the Dinobots led by Grimlock to prevent them from capturing Cade Yeager, Santos, having witnessed the remnants of his convoy destroyed, decided to use the opportunity to launch a fleet of mini drones to track down Cade Yeager. Before launching them, he pushed Lennox aside as he took matters on his own hands as the drones began launching from a TRF transport truck, led by a mother drone.

When most of Megatron's Crew have been killed, with the exceptions of Megatron and Nitro Zeus, who were forced to retreat, the TRF drones begun mobilizing on the village to hunt down Cade Yeager, who was also been assisted by Izabella and Jimmy and were hiding in a gas station. They proceeded to hide in a nearby cathedral, as Jimmy complained that the drones were supposed to hunt down terrorists and not "tax paying Americans", since he doesn't even pay taxes because he was hired by Cade from a want ad. As they hid, the TRF drones, led by a mother drone, begun to mobilize on their target, and blasted their way inside the cathedral as Cade told Jimmy and Izabella to hide. As they ran, Cade was able to use one of his weapons to blast one of the drones firing at him as a second one tried to kill him, though Cade was able to dive under the drone and blast it as well. Cade, Jimmy and Izabella then hid in a nearby room as more drones begun to close on them, only for another drone to fire through the walls as they began to hide in a nearby bedroom. Two drones begun to close on them as they hid inside the beds and one of them begun to target Cade Yeager through its facial recognition technology. Santos, witnessing the events on a drone's camera, denounced Cade a "dead man", having truly hated on him since his convoy was destroyed. The proceeding drone begun to fire at Cade only for him to destroy it before the second one attempted to kill Cade by ramming him, though Cade was able to throw it off aside and allowing Izabella to kill it using a stick. Another drone tried to kill Cade but Jimmy realized that the drone isn't even targeting him since it uses facial recognition to track down their main target, which is Cade Yeager, and not himself. Jimmy began to trick the drone much to Cade's dismay, and as the drone begun to fire at him, it doesn't kill Jimmy and launched a dud bean bag instead, knocking him through a nearby wall as Cade blasted it as a distraction. Jimmy proclaimed that he was dying even though he wasn't since a bean bag knocked him out instead of the drone itself killing him.

Cade, Izabella and Jimmy began escaping from the church as they hid in a nearby building as another drone pursued them. Cade told Jimmy and Izabella that they were going to take out the mother drone before the others as they begun hiding in a nearby elevator, where he was able to encounter Cogman for the first time. As Cogman told Cade that he'd been assigned by Edmund Burton to collect him since the talisman had chose him, the elevator stopped where a drone was able to ram Cade much to the others dismay as they feared he'd die. As Cogman contacted Edmund about the whole situation Cade was able to hold on to the drone and proceeded to ram it to a nearby rooftop as he begun to slid and held on to a pole for cover. Another drone proceeded to fire at him, resulting Cade falling into another rooftop, although the talisman he previously got from a dying knight in Chicago, was able to protect him. More drones converged on him but Cade was able to jump on two of them before jumping onto the mother drone, where was able to destroy it by crashing it to the ground. The last two drones were then destroyed by Crosshairs.

Trivia[]

  • The TRF drones somewhat resemble the TIE fighters used by the Galactic Empire and First Order factions in the Star Wars franchise.
