“ | Hey there Pierre! | „ |
~ The TV after being turned on. |
“ | Say, I just remembered- your mother wanted you to do some... remodeling... what do you say? (Whether the player answers "yes" or "no" won't change anything.) Great! First let's get rid of this old furniture. | „ |
~ The TV asking Pierre to kill the other furniture. |
The TV is the main antagonist of the 2020 sandbox/exploration videogame House Sitter. As the name implies, he's the TV in Pierre's house.
Personality[]
The TV acts friendly whenever interacting with Pierre, although it's pretty obvious this kindness isn't genuine but a mere facade for the TV to use Pierre for his purposes.
The TV seems to enjoying causing the deaths of others, either directly or indirectly.
He also seems to not accept disagreement.
Biography[]
When the TV is first found in the living room, he'll be unplugged.
"Bad Ending" Route[]
If Pierre decides to turn him on, the TV will thank him and will destroy Granny Sofa with a laser beam. After this, the TV will tell Pierre (clearly lying) that he remembered that his mother wanted him to do some remodeling, and asks Pierre if he wants to do so. Regardless of the answer, the TV will take it as a yes and will tell Pierre to get rid of the other furniture (to be precise, the TV wants Mr. Freeze, Mrs. Freeze, Terry the Toaster, Suckerburg, Larry the Lamp, Madame Mattress, Leafy, Linus the Computer, George Washing Machine, Tailor the Toilet, Stooly and the Dresser Brothers to be killed).
The TV will tell Pierre how many furniture are missing whenever interacted with and, once Pierre completes the job, will congratulate with him before saying that he must be going. At this point, the TV will move to look at the ceiling, shooting a laser beam and causing pieces of it to fall on himself, seemingly resulting in his own death.
Other Roles[]
If the screws are removed from the TV's back and Wheely is put there, the TV will be turned towards Sgt. Oak. He will state that Pierre is a "crafty one" before shooting a laser beam at Sgt. Oak, destroying him and Wally the Wall.
The TV can also be killed by Pierre himself when the latter returns from space, landing on the TV and breaking him (although whether this actually killed him or not is ambiguous since the TV does a similar thing to himself in the Bad Ending).
Quotes[]
“ | Thanks for turning me back on! Here's a little something for your troubles. (The TV shoots a laser beam, reducing Granny Sofa to dust.) She was really getting on your nerves huh. | „ |
~ The TV after Pierre interacts with him after having turned him back on. |
“ | There are/is [number] left. | „ |
~ The TV telling Pierre how many furniture left to kill there are. |
“ | Great job Pierre! You did it! I have never seen such a... thorough job. Mom is going to be so happy! You sick bastard... well, it's been a pleasure Pierre. But I have to be going. Bye! | „ |
~ The TV after the furniture have been killed. |
“ | You're a crafty one aren't you... | „ |
~ The TV if Pierre uses Wheely to have the TV destroy Sgt. Oak and the wall behind him. |
Trivia[]
- Interestingly enough, the Bad Ending will be obtained even if Mrs. Freeze hasn't been killed and she still will appear in Purgatory. This is most likely a bug.
- It's unknown why the TV wants Pierre to kill the other furniture. However, it's possible that he wants to get Pierre in trouble with his mother since it's pretty obvious that he lied to Pierre about his mother wanting to him remodel and knows perfectly what Pierre is doing is wrong.
- Another possibility is that the TV knows that if Pierre kills all the other furniture he'll end up in Purgatory.
