SOUR CREAM!
~ Taco’s catchphrase in Season 1.
Yes, you were all utterly fooled. Did you honestly think that I was that half witted? I merely pretended to be an idiot. Not to be seen as a threat, and to make the viewers like me more.
~ Taco reveals her plan
Microphone, sit down. Now, listen to the story of just how irritatingly pathetic you are, and thereby, how much you need me. Microphone, you're loose cannon. A "wild card", if you will. Will you? Some may call it "diverse gameplay". I recognized it as chaos that must be reined in. Take it from last season's loudmouth, yours truly. Microphone, your moves may be bold, but they should be more precise; that's where I come into play.
~ Taco offers Mic her assistance

Taco is the secondary antagonist of the 2011 animated web series Inanimate Insanity.

She serves as the main antagonist of Inanimate Insanity, and the secondary antagonist of Inanimate Insanity II.

She is currently voiced by Rheagan Rizio (who also voices Groscer in the same series), and formerly voiced by Sam Katz, Adam Katz, and Alexander Aceland Kent.

Appearance[]

Taco is a hard shell taco filled with tomatoes and lettuce. She also has a pair of arms in her shell she can hide at any time. From "Mine Your Own Business" to "Truth or Flare", her shell was broken thanks to getting hit by a gemory, though as of the latter episode, her shell is back to normal after being revived.

Personality[]

Taco was known for her stupid, goofy, odd, wild, and dumb personality at the beginning of the series, most notably for screaming nonsensical words, making funny faces, and spitting lemons. Taco generally seemed utterly unaware of all disputes and remained motionless.

However, Taco's personality starts slowly shifting throughout the season, eventually leading to the grand reveal in "Journey Through Memory Lane (Part 2)". When Taco loses the competition, she reveals her true colors in a rage of anger when OJ wins. Taco says that she was just playing a role and created her persona as part of her plan to gain viewership and not be seen as a threat.

Taco's true identity is very different from the silly character she was playing. Despite the persona she puts on, she is intelligent, deceitful, tactful, sensitive, and mischievous, with a desire for evil behind her acts of charming people behind her mischief. Although her plan to steal the million-dollars in Inanimate Insanity was foiled, she continues to pursue the same prize again in Inanimate Insanity II.

Hiding in the bushes during the first half of the season, Taco remains a spectator in order to find a partner. Eventually, Taco narrows her choice to Microphone, a weaker opponent who fails to excel in challenges but tries very hard. After, Taco starts tormenting Microphone by reading through her diary in "Rain On Your Charade". She opens up to Microphone to encourage her to join her to share the million-dollar reward in return for support and guidance in the rest of the game.

From here, Taco further shows her true personality. She has little regard for genuine morals in order to advance in the competition, such as in "Kick the Bucket" where she instructs Microphone to paralyze Balloon to impede her skill in the challenge and discusses how she loves messing with others. Still, when she was able to manipulate Balloon within the game rules, she is also shown to appreciate Microphone. Taco is also somewhat egotistical and arrogant, as she views Balloon and Suitcase's conflicts as "petty" and "adorable".

However, a brief scene in "Alternate Reality Show" has Taco reach into a portal to the past and say "Another chance, perhaps..." with a solemn look. While Taco has constantly avoided speaking of this moment when asked about it, it does imply that Taco has a sense of regret to her past actions. Regardless though, Taco's selfishness is what led to her downfall, as in "Hatching the Plan", when Microphone gets recognition for supposedly getting Fan back, despite Taco's unexpectedly dangerous way to do so leading to Test Tube hating Microphone, Taco exclaims "Finally, a taste of recognition. Finally, I can finally-", revealing how even if she had good intentions, she is truly a desperate parasite who desires recognition, even though she is seemingly beyond redemption. This also implies that all Taco ever wanted since Season 1 was recognition.

However, as shown in "Truth or Flare," Taco is able to seemingly manipulate and expose other contestants and MePhone4 for who they really are and what they really want. But as shown throughout the episode, Taco's regret on her past becomes more apparent, blaming the game and MePhone4 for driving her to this point, something MePad notices and tries to help with. It's with this mindset that Taco realizes Microphone had the right idea to leave the game before it would've turned her into what Taco became, and soon urges the remaining 4 contestants to leave before it's too late. Upon hearing that someone was coming and that it could've been someone from the past, Taco literally shatters under the idea of facing her past. After being revived, taking MePad's advice, she decides she is done hiding and discards her InvisiBow, now choosing to properly reform herself and face her old friends and enemies.

Biography[]

In Season 1, Taco is mostly seen being shouting and spitting lemons. She is also best friends with Pickle, and seen with him a lot. In the Aquatic Conflict, Taco reveals her arms. In "Journey Through Memory Lane" she reveals that she's been playing a role and isn't the moron she was pretending to be.

In the first part of Season 2, Taco hides in the bushes.

In "Rain On Your Charade" Taco torments Microphone and convinces her to split the million in exchange for her help. In "Mazed and Confused" Microphone contacts through gain Taco and asks for her assistance in the maze.

In "Kick The Bucket" Taco orders Microphone to paralyze Balloon, which Microphone disagreed to and instead manipulated him. Taco is shown to respect Microphones choice.

In "Alternate Reality Show" Taco breaks into Test Tube's secret lab, and steals her InvisiBows. Lightbulb turns on a time machine thinking its a calculator, a time portal appears taking away Test Tube and Lightbulb. Taco reaches for the portal mentioning that she might have a second chance, but it disappears. Knife finds out about the whole Taco-Microphone thing but does nothing about it. In "Mine Your Own Business" Microphone and Taco keep trying to get Knife to join their alliance, however, Knife always declines. A gem falls on Taco cracking her shell, but Microphone gets immunity.

In "Hatching the Plan", Taco puts MePad into sleep mode to teleport to the Egg Spaceship, Microphone asks Taco to promise that she won't be violent, however, once on the ship, Taco shoots and kills Test Tube, she then shoots Fan to get immunity for Microphone. Taco instructs Microphone to take Fan. While hesitant at first, she does it anyways. Microphone brings Fan to the others, and they start cheering. Taco tells Microphone over gain, embellishing their victory, but Microphone strikes back asking if Taco said the same thing to Pickle. Microphone then turns off her gain, muting Taco. Microphone quits the game out of guilt. Microphone enters the portal after warning Knife that Taco is still out there, unbeknownst that Taco was watching and teleports away with MePad.

In "Truth or Flare", Taco awakens MePad and begins telling him her plan. They converse about her past before she asks for the challenge data. MePad begins asking Taco what she really wants, which leads into Taco's Tirade, where Taco vents about her regrets and how she feels like she's irredeemable while planning to pry into the remaining contestants to reveal all their truths. Later on, she hijacks the show to take over the challenge, forcing everyone to answer invasive questions. She targets a variety of topics, such as Suitcase and Baseball's lingering feelings towards their former alliance, Lightbulb's self-confidence, and Knife's knowledge of her meddling prior to her appearance. Things come to a head when she accidentally uncovers Suitcase's stress-induced hallucinations, leading her on a tangent where she tells the players that the show is harming them and their relationships, confessing to her plan to take a piece of the cash prize before abandoning it upon seeing how obsessed she became. She then targets MePhone4 for goading them into such harm. She is interrupted by a surprise visit from one of the former contestants brought on by the pen Lightbulb had been clicking on. Worried that it's one of her previous friends, Taco begins to crack under pressure while Knife berates her until she completely shatters. MePhone4 stalls on reviving her until being pressured to by MePad and the players. MePad resigns the show and leaves with Taco, leading her to the hotel where she resolves herself to face Pickle and Microphone.

In "The Reality of the Situation", Taco sneaks into Hotel OJ with MePad as she makes an attempt to apologize to Pickle. Pickle at first rejects her apology, as he is still emotionally harmed by her betrayal back in Season 1, with Taco continuing to explain herself and her impulsive actions that caused their friendship to dwindle apart. Pickle continues to ignore her empathy, causing Taco to be taken aback of what he just said. However, their discussion is interrupted when MePhoneX attacks and deletes Pickle, leaving Taco to mourn over his corpse. MePhone4 enters the room Taco is in and undergoes suspicion that Taco killed Pickle, before MePad explains that it wasn't her doing.

In "Objects in Mirror", it is shown that Pickle doesn't want to be involved with Taco anymore, ignoring her when they are in the red line race. In the same race, images of Taco's friendship and betrayal of Pickle almost break Taco into standing still, but she shakes if off. In the end, Taco gets mad that Pickle accepted MePhone4's apology for causing everyone so much pain throughout the 3 seasons. Microphone tells Taco to drop it and move on from Pickle.

She appeared to have her own spinoff series named “The Taco Show”, Taco appeared to interview OJ yet constantly misspelling his name and giving him terrible questions such as what was inside of his Glass body, which then the Kool Aid Man replaced the substance with Cherry Flavour, And attempted to pour a bucket of “strange warm Yellow Liquid” from the street (implied to be pee), scaring away OJ. In the Second and final video of the miniseries, when the channel reached 4.000 Subscribers, Taco had fed up with the audience’s constant heckling, in anger she reached for a pistol and killed a Young Lamp offscreen, leading to ending her short-lived show.

~ Taco reaching towards the time portal in Test Tube's lab
No talking your way out of that one.
~ Taco after breaking everyone's trust in Knife
Don’t you understand what the game has done to you all? Nothing is worth this! There is no winning here, for anyone!
~ Taco to the remaining contestants during the penultimate challenge
I admit, at first I worked from the shadows, observing you all for a chance at just some of that... SOME of that... but recently, I saw this desire take me to extremes, and, let’s just say, I’ve lost more than any of you. That said, you can still catch up, which is why I urge each of you to leave NOW, before you end up like me.
~ Taco confessing to her plans
No more hiding.
~ Taco preparing to confront her fears

Taco's Tirade Lyrics[]

Look at them! It’s so pathetic
How they run to fetch their sticks
Sure, call me polemic,
Unsympathetic, at least I know other tricks!
Look at me and all you’ll see is the debris of some defective outcast!
A frenetic, antithetic (if poetic) little iconoclast
But I won’t live in the past!
I almost won this game once, you know but!
History is rearranged just to credit those who win the glory
So rеality is changed in the edit whеn they spin the story!
And we choose to feel this pain
And we lose more than we gain!
But I will break this cycle of mistakes,
unlike all of these snakes whom I call to condemn!
If I can’t win the prize,
I’ll play this last reprisal
Just to bring their lies all to an end!

~ Taco singing "Taco's Tirade" in "Truth or Flare" (first verse)

Taco: Ack!
MePad: You need regeneration.
Taco: Unfortunately, I don't have much faith in that process.
MePad: Of course not.
Taco: Why "of course not?".
MePad: You believe yourself to be incapable of starting over, in more ways than one. I do not know who you lost, but is it not possible to get them back?

~ Taco's dialogue with MePad (intermission)

“Clear the slate, start again,” Are you hearing how preposterous that sounds
How do you not comprehend that for someone with my monstrous background!?
The whole slate has fallen apart (MePad: Taco that is not true. There are other ways to-)
It’s too late (MePad: It's not too late!) for me to restart!
But it’s not I, it’s they (MePad: Let us talk about it when your head is not so clouded.)
Who deign to play this game (MePad: You're no menace, Taco, how did they hurt you?)
So cruel and inhumane base and uncouth (MePad: Please think this through)
I think they’re too afraid to bear the bed they’ve made (MePad: Feeling double-crossed is part of Dealing with a loss, yes,)
Can’t bring themselves to face the awful truth! (MePad: but the Healing is a process, that's the truth)
So I’m turning up the heat to “sauté”
I’ve a beef to get grilled
But I fully guarantee that today
All the beans that get spilled
Won’t be mine, No I’m fine!
Shhh…
Now it’s time!

~ Taco singing "Taco's Tirade" in "Truth or Flare" (second verse)
