Tal'aura is a minor antagonist in the film Star Trek: Nemesis.
She was played by Shannon Cochran, who also portrayed Anna Morgan in The Ring.
Tal'aura was a member of the Romulan senate and an ally of Shinzon in his plan to lead the Romulans in a decisive strike against the Federation. After Praetor Hiren had rejected Shinzon's proposals, Tal'aura left the senate leaving behind a device which released thalaron radiation, killing everyone else present and allowing Shinzon to seize power.
After Shinzon and his Remans had departed in the Scimitar to attack Earth, Tal'aura was among those back on Romulus who received his communication and commented on his obvious physical deterioration.
In the post-Nemesis novels, Tal'aura became the Romulan praetor following Shinzon's death but quickly found herself at odds with her former ally Donatra, who ceded a large amount of territory from Tal'aura's rule as the Imperial Romulan State. Tal'aura brought the Romulan Star Empire into the Typhon Pact and, on the pretext of peace talks, framed Donatra for an attempt to assassinate Ambassador Spock, allowing her to bring the whole of the former Romulan territory under her control. However, not long after she was assassinated by the Tzenkethi, who made her death look like natural causes, in order to replace her with the less ambitious Gell Kamemnor.
Despite her large role in expanded universe stories, Tal'aura only appears in two brief scenes in the film, having one line of dialogue in each.
