Why Ada Wong is still an anti-hero/villain.[]
Ada Wong is a villain because she's a cutthroat mercenary who is ultimately bad despite a few good moments. In 2 & UC, she's responsible for Wesker gaining his own sample of the G-Virus, despite her reservations on it she still nethertheless hands it over by the end, indirectly causing countless deaths thanks to her actions as thanks to her, the G-Virus escapes the destruction of Raccoon City even if HUNK had failed. In Resident Evil 2 she manipulates both John (her boyfriend in the original) and Leon to get the sample, this goes back to my other point, though she ultimately refuses to kill Leon once he finds out and even helps him against T-00, she still gladly steals the G-Virus.
Then in Resident Evil 4, she goes in to retrieve a dominant Las Plagas sample, while she does provide small aid to Leon, in the og end she threatens to kill him if he doesn't hand the sample over. In the remake it's only because she realises Wesker wants to commit global genocide that she betrays him. Had Wesker lied or had a different use for the Plagas, Ada would have given it to him like the G-Virus without hesitation.
Then in the Degeneration movie (which is canon), she's one of the two main reasons the whole movie happens. She's the one who gives the president the defective Plaga to use, causing the deaths of hundreds of soldiers and civilians, all so she could steal the presidents own Plaga sample.
I will admit in RE6 she's definitely a heroic character but even then, it's more to prevent to world being destroyed and get rid of a "cheap knockoff" then any moral virtues.
Again, she does have her good moments, mostly around Leon but at the end of the day, she's still a near cold-blooded mercenary who only draws the line at genocide, she has almost zero issues with anything else and it's thanks to her the world has experienced multiple bio-weapon outbreaks. The remake has Leon acknowledge that no matter his attraction to her, Ada is not a good person and still works with terrorists to ensure more outbreaks occur.
And that is why she deserves to still remain on the Villains Wiki.
