No, he's not played for sympathy at all and those excuses don't hold any water since he's so inept and distanced from humanity to the point of not being affected at all by a lack of friends and family and it's implied he crippled the boy bullying him in some way as petty vengeance for just getting punched in the face. Considering there's more than one live-action Sonic movie, you guys might wanna consider renaming this page to "Dr. Robotnik (Live-Action)."
