No it would not. A redeemed villain is a villain who turns good and this guy never becomes neither honest nor a good father, he let Matilda be adopted because he could not care less about her, which means he is still a very bad parent. Balthus Dire 09:36, January 3, 2012 (UTC)

I Disagree because in the musical near the end, he seem to a bit show remorse for his action, even called Matilda his daughter when Miss Honey wanted to adopt her, proving that contrary to his movie character same if he do not careless can be remorseful, or just because he was scared to be killed by the russian mafia.~~Solonor1987~~
