Main Antagonist in The Hobbit Trilogy
Definitely. I have plenty of evidence.
- Sauron is the Dark Lord of Middle-earth, not Smaug.
- In one point, it is hinted that Smaug works for Sauron.
- Sauron is more powerful than Smaug, and far more evil.
- Sauron did bigger crimes than Smaug did.

Um, to be fair that isn't how you define what is and isn't the primary or secondary antagonist of a story. An antagonist isn't necessarily even a villain, really. An antagonist is defined as a character opposing the protagonist, and seeing that the protagonist of The Hobbit was Bilbo, and he doesn't really interact at all with Sauron, Sauron doesn't count as the Primary Antagonist of that trilogy. Sure, he may have a more large-scale villainous plan, but in the actual story he doesn't really play that big a role as the antagonist, per se. So....I'm gonna edit that part out of the trivia. I'll leave a copy here if you like.
- He is easily mistaken to be the tertiary antagonist in the Hobbit movie trilogy. This is false; Sauron is the bigger bad of those films because he had far bigger plans than anyone else.
But yeah, I'm going to edit that part out of the trivia. :)
