Tamara Steel is a minor antagonist of the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. She is a news reporter who works for Elliot Carver of the Carver Media Group Network.
She was portrayed by Nina Young.
Role[]
Steel was among the many employees of CMGN involved in Carver's plot to instigate a war between England and China. During Carver's party of launching his new satellite, Steel was seen laughing as Carver jokes around to his fellow guests before the arrival of James Bond, who later caused great embarrassment by causing a power outage during Carver's speech.
Upon learning that his wife Paris used to be ex-lovers with Bond and was less honest about her relationship, Carver arranged for Dr. Kaufman to kill her in Bond's suite. Carver also gets Steel to prerecord a news report of herself detailing Paris' death so that he can frame Bond for the murder and make it look like a murder-suicide. Upon the arrival of Bond, Kaufman shows the footage of Steel's report in a video cassette, saying that it will be on the news in an hour. However, this was not the case when Bond shoots down Kaufman before escaping.
It is unknown what happened to Steel following the deaths of Carver, either she was arrested for her involvement or she may have fled the authorities.
