Tamir Aladeen is the main antagonist of the 2012 satirical film The Dictator. He is the uncle of Admiral General Haffaz Aladeen and the brother of the late former dictator Omar Aladeen.

He was originally supposed to be the ruler of the Republic of Wadiya, but his nephew was born and later declared to be the next dictator. He got extremely jealous and sought out to kill Aladeen, no matter what they have to do, where it includes killing body doubles and pretending to like him.

He was portrayed by Sir Ben Kingsley, who also played Cosmo in Sneakers, Dr. Xavier Fitch in Species, Don Logan in Sexy Beast, The Hood in the Thunderbirds film, Fagin in the 2005 Oliver Twist film adaptation, The Rabbi in Lucky Number Slevin, Nizam in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Trevor Slattery in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Archibald Snatcher in The Boxtrolls and General Woundwort in the 2018 Netflix Watership Down adaptation.

Personality[]

At the beginning of the film he seems quiet and outspoken and constantly shares uncomfortable experiences with Aladeen but soon reveals his plan to have Aladeen killed. He is also a good manipulator due to him being able to get a body double who is extremely dumb to pretend to be Aladeen. He is mainly shown to be awkward and envious due to him supposed to have been the dictator for his country and says to a body double, "being a dictator does have its perks." When he isn't around Aladeen he is much more social and happy and when he starts his scheme he is seen talking to his partners in crime. He is also shown to be much more intelligent than his nephew throughout the film.

He is also shown to be homophobic and perverted when he makes the body double have sex with a group of women and rips on his partner for talking about "dicks".
