Tanggol is a minor antagonist in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
He is a leader of bandits in the remote countryside of Sto. NIño, who robs and extorts money to the locals of Sto. Niño. Later on, he became an ally of Emilio Syquia in his mining business who enslaved locals of Sto. Niño.
He is played by Jorross Gamboa.
Background[]
He established a bandit group in Sto. Niño with his elder brother involved in robbery and extortion throughout their areas. One night, while Cardo and Alyana are lying low to Marco Cabrera and the authorities he meets Cardo during a drinking session but was warned by the locals to be careful of his actions. During a festival in Sto. Niño, he admired Alyana and harassed her causing Cardo to extremely injure him. Days later, he meets Cardo once again and this time he mauls Cardo seriously.
One day, as Don Emilio (disguised as Gustavo Toralba) becomes interested in mining gold, he made alliance with him to enslave people of Sto. Niño for their mining business. He terrorized Sto. Niño and enslaved most of the locals in the village, until Cardo and the Vendetta retaliated. He once again faced Cardo and the latter seriously beat him in their duel. He was completely defeated when Sto. Niño locals ambushed him resulting his downfall.
Personality[]
He is an arrogant and wrathful individual making the locals of Sto. Niño intimidated by his nature. He uses his intimidation to extort money and commit various crimes throughout the neighborhood causing the locals to scare him and force to give their money. At one point, he cold-bloodedly mauled Cardo, where it was revealed that he doesn’t spare his enemies indicating that he is capable in defeating and killing them cruelly. Moreover, this arrogance and intimidation also made him egotistical individual where he proclaims that he rules out Sto. Niño by his own hands.
Trivia[]
- His name maybe borrowed to Tanggol who is also played by Coco Martin in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo. It is unknown if this is coincidence or not.
