Tanner is the main antagonist of the 2020 survival-horror strategy game Scrutinized. The player controls an investigator named Luna Youngman who attempts to find the true identity of a serial killer called the Blueblood Killer whilst being tormented and stalked by Tanner (whose intent is to test her) and a kidnapper.
He was voiced by Michael Malconian.
Appearance[]
Tanner is a serial killer who broke into houses and murdered many people mainly with syringes. He appears as a deranged man who dresses like a doctor (it is unconfirmed if he really is one) by wearing a white coat, shirt, red tie, black slacks and shoes and has a sarcastic and a eerily cheerful deposition.
Biography[]
Tanner's activity is encouraged by making progress on reports and Luna's overall activity on computer. The player (aka Luna) must constantly check the three cameras with the lights, where Tanner can often be seen lurking around. Flashing the lights at him will scare him off and keep him away from the house. When all the closets are open, If he breaks in!he doesn't always immediately go for a kill, instead he'll patiently wait for the player and proceeds to ambush from one of the three closets. These are in the filing room, the spare bedroom, and in the living room behind the sofa. On occasion, Tanner will pop up in front of a camera in order to scare the player. This does nothing other than scare and distract the player.
In the Normal Mode ending, Tanner drugs and kidnaps Luna before bringing her to his hideout. He commends her on her crime watch program and reveals he indebted himself to Adam in return for finding the true identity of the Blueblood Killer. Out of respect for Laura’s efforts, Tanner gives her a file containing information on the Blueblood Killer. However, before Luna can read the file on the Blueblood Killer, he drugs her again, telling her that she'll wake up back at her apartment with everything she needs to find the killer.
Personality[]
Despite not having much background on Tanner, it is clear that he is a serial killing psychopath who takes joy in murdering others. He even taunts and tells jokes before murdering his victims. He also enjoys toying around with his victims such as hiding in plain sight and stalking before initiating the kill.
However, he showed respect for Luna for her efforts to find the Blueblood killer, even giving her a file on it if she makes it to the final day.
